sherameyn
Is it currently possible to have a mod that makes helmets invisible, without, like, making the texture "invisible"? As someone that likes seeing their characters, especially in dialogues and that hates putting it in per quickslot or inventory as soon as the fight starts (which I often forget), it's a real pain in the ass that Bethesda didn't implement that option! :/
Deleted2948850User
Yes, I've just tested this with Piper's hat as an example and am glad to say that it is possible using FO4Edit. In FO4Edit, find both the Armor and Armor Addon of the helmet you wish to edit and copy them as an override into a new .esp file. Next, go to the Armor Addon form and delete the paths for both the male and female world models.http://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/images/1151/2948850-1448558384.jpg And lastly, go to the Armor form and delete 30 - Head from the biped body template (otherwise wearing the helmet in-game will result in a loss of hair =P)http://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/images/1151/2948850-1448558649.jpg That's it, you now have an invisible helmet! Do note that all of the edited helmets will now be invisible, not just yours. Edited November 26, 2015 by Guest

Deleted2948850User
Not a problem =] Now that I think about it though, you could also copy the items as new forms instead of overrides andplace the new helmet somewhere in the world or give it to yourself using the additem command. Not sure if that'll workbut it would keep all the other helmets throughout the wasteland intact.
sherameyn
Hm, another noob question... zilav moved the exe to nexusmods (since his Google download page seems to be down due to all the downloads), or so he says. So when I go to http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/? and download the latest version, rename it to FO4Edit, it tells me that it doesn't support Fallout 4... any suggestions? :)
sherameyn
Oh, I don't mind if no one wears hats. I am not very fond of the armor design. The only ones halfway bearable are the non-armor heads (those for stats), but I can live without that if that means I don't have to see my character hidden all of the time. So you'll either have to wait for himto put his download page back up or find a different download source (if there are any out there at all). Sorry mate. sherameyn
Haha, I was lucky and had a small open window.Anyway, it kind of worked, heh. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a297/Aidenea/af5dbf60-c495-4006-b12a-0ae2ef30e80c.png I like this, somehow. But if I'd want to get rid of it completely, would I have to delete the Hair option in BOD2, too? (It's the half-open synth helm. It has head, hair and unnamed) Edited November 27, 2015 by sherameyn
Deleted2948850User
I think you might've missed an Armor Addon for this particular helmet. If you blank all the correct world model .nif'sit should already be completely invisible. Removing the 30 - Head part from the biped model is simply to preventit from removing your hair model while you have the helmet equiped. But I gotta admit, helmet looks kinda coollike that, regardless of being unintended =]
