th3t3rr1bl30n3
I've made a few .esp's by merging dozens of smaller mods together into related categories and I'm wondering if I need to successfully contact every author and get explicit permission to use either their general idea or their specific game settings. How did that work when they created Project Nevada or FO3 Wanderer's Edition? For the most part authors that have posted content chose not to specify any kind of instructions and in rare cases mods for Fallout 4 are remade by a 3rd party from a Fallout 3 or Skyrim game so which "author" do I contact? Can I upload my files and include a disclaimer that I don't have specific permissions from the following authors and contact me to remove content? Deleted2948850User
Unless you want to redo all the work yourself, I do suggest you contact the creators. From what I know, people generally don't mind if their content is reuploaded/repacked so long as they still get credit for their work.
jet4571
Check the mod page for use requirements, some require permission, some do not, some allow you to use others is a flat no even if asked. There's a button called "Perms" below the download count to check as well as the description. If both say you must as for permission then you must ask them. If it says asking isn't required then you can use without asking. But always give credit and toss a link into their comment section so they can see what you did.
