Darkh Templar
Well, I was wondering...my char is lvl 22, right about the lvl when Ebony items oughta start popping up on NPC's and in chests and what not, but i have a really hard time find items. I find a bunch of mithril and dwarven and orcish junk, but rarely any ebony. So, what i'm asking is: Is there any fixed location with ebony items, or an NPC/chest/quest that either gives them or has a high chance of dropping them? Povuholo
You could do the Clavicus Vile Quest. You'll have to kill a NPC who has a full set of ebony armor (with her name in front of it) and the best sword in the game. The ebony armor is leveled. If you are below level 15 its statistics are identical to those of orcish armor, but anywhere above level 15 they have the regular ebony armor statistics. Darkh Templar
What I meant to say when I said "orcish junk" is that i want ebony because it looks better :PYay! Gonna do the daedric quest now, thx loads.

Also, you can only do the quest until you're level 20+ (but i may be wrong)Remember, Ebony is heavy armor, so look for marauders, not bandids! Rhydderch Hael
Go after a Marauder warlord. He or she should be sporting top-line gear. Of course, at Level 22, you should be seeing Daedric.
Darkh Templar
Marauder warlord? Must've missed an obvious one there, 'cuz I don't recall ever seeing anything called a "Marauder". Well. not in Oblivion anyways :P
Rhydderch Hael
Marauders are like Bandits, expect they wear Heavy Armor and wield swords instead of blunt weapons. You'll find two camped outside Sercen at the interesction of the North Red Ring and Silver Road to Bruma, for example. While a Bandit Ringleader is the boss-type Bandit you'll encounter in certain dungeons, a Marauder Warlord is their boss-type.

Normally if the fort has people outside, there will be people inside. Just get yourself some basic detect life, run around the wilderness, enter any fort you see, and with detect life running, if you see something humanlike, you may get lucky. SeasonDancer
I remember reading somewhere, that the game has only two forts with Warlords - i forgot which and forth Strand (near Anvil)You can only do the quest if you're lvel 20+, but you can find Umbra in the dungeon at any time. If you have been to the dungeon before, and were under level 15, the armor will have orcish stats. If you are over level 15 it has the ebony stats.Thank you for reminding, sorry! You learn something new every day.
