LastJohn
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, didn't see one that had to do with the CS. But I just have a simple question, in my CS why am I only able to see a portion of the area. Example, when I am in game, I can be at the top of a mountain a mile away and see the imperial city, my computer is quite powerful But in the CS I see maybe a 20 by 20 area. Which makes it difficult to do landscaping, building, and to get a good sense of how big the area is. If I zoom out about 6 times I can't see anyting, it is just grey. I zoom in and I see the buildings and everything. But my computer should be powerful enough to where if I zoom out a hundred times everything should still be visble. Anyways, I want to know if there is a way I can change these setting's for the CS to allow me to see a lot more in the distance instead of maybe just a small portion. Maigrets
The CS is different than the game, so it doesn't matter what kind of system you have or how powerful. It's an "editor" and not meant for distance viewing as you would in game. When you load the CS you're loading every single thing in the game at once for use in creating mods, so there's no way it could do what you ask. What you are seeing is one cell. If you move to any far side of that cell the next one will load in the Render Window. You need to be close and not zoomed way out though as you will get the grey look. Here's a brief explanation of the size of exterior cells.http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Exterior_cells You can expand all of the windows in the CS by dragging the top, bottom or corners like any other window so you can customize it to suit yourself. To see further when you've loaded a cell expand the Render Window to half the size, or more, of the screen viewing area.

Thanks, was just curious because I mod quite a bit and it is quite annoying how it does that, especially land because the heightmap editor seems to crash quite often so there is no other way that I know of to create landmasses but manually. jamochawoke
You can import heightmaps instead of trying to create them in the CS manually. Here's a thread where a guy explains how he did it and some problems he encountered whilst doing so and how he overcame them: http://www.bundysoft.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=
