Minigun/Gatling Laser spin-up removal

No, miniguns do NOT take that much time to spin up and start firing

They start firing as soon as the barrels rotate!

it takes maybe half a second or more for them to spin up to full speed though depending on weight/power etc

So you have an INCREASE in fire rate, but one that's pretty damn fast.

The usual fire rate for miniguns is 2000 rounds per minute, but it can be selected, with some variants going as high as 12,000 RPM in *short bursts* for use as antimissile systems etc, CIWs
but that extreme speed is rare case iirc, usually 8000 rpm is maximum and for most it's 4000 or 6000 rpm *maximum*
2000 rpm is more stable

the mulitbarrels, rotation, and also if in aircraft the slipstream help keep the barrels much cooler than normal machine guns. Take a hell of a lot to make them glow redhot  but hey it's cool looking in game.

depending on the system, with some such weapons, the barrels can be spun without firing
Some even use compressed gas or hydraulics to spin

I completely agree with the original post! it's stupid in games to make miniguns slow to spin up and THEN fire only when spun up, it does NOT happen in RL
please go watch videos of them firing, people

Craftable mod to remove spin-up would be super-awasome. Maybe couple of them, one to start off slow rate-of-fire and one more expensive and start off at full fire-rate. Maybe third that spins up the gun when you aim...

Theres a need for both, waste a feral with few shots or if you got lots of rounds, let loose.

That's how miniguns work in real life..

Not from what I see on any of the several hundred of youtube videos of the m134 and other multi-barreled weapons. It's pretty much instant firing. So, no, that's not how miniguns work in real life. But thank you for replying on the thread.

"feature"

you clearly know your ballistics.

Not sure what that means. I have an opinion about a feature in the game that has always bothered me and asking for someone who might know how to remove it. What you do then is comment on my ballistics knowledge, which to me made no sense at all. Thanks though.
