Sypron
I think its about time that i got one of these mods bacuse i'm sick of alot of tuff in oblivion. Proplem is I can't install them till i run the patch fixer, which requires a CD, which i have to go and buy cause the old one broke. I have downloaded Frans leveled creatures-item mods but now i'm wondering if its the right choice. What I would like is for someone to give me a quick rundown the the KEY points of each, which one you use and why. Note that I don't run any (or not many) mods that alter similair things, so compatiblity isn't an issue.
Povuholo
OOO conflicts with more than you might think at first. An example is mods that alter the speed of magic projectiles: They will conflict because OOO also changes it. OOO also has more varied misc items like plates. Different qualities. Francesco's also changes things besides the levelled lists and creatures but those are in optional files, while almost all the OOO features are in one file. Some people complain about OOO's creatures, saying they conflict with TES lore. But lore's not everything of course, and I don't think he went too far. If you want a complete world overhaul, take OOO.If you want a levelled lists/creature overhaul with many optional files, take Francesco's. I'd take Francesco's. Does the levelled lists thing in Francesco's work like OOO?
SickleYield
Somewhat. It's possible to use them together if you merge the leveled lists (using FCOM and Wrye Bash), but I think Fran's raises the level you have to reach in order to find good loot if you give that one priority. Sypron
Well it sounds like frans is a good choice. Thats good cause i'e already downloaded it. I'll install it when I can. Who knows which patch its compatible with and if it SI compatible?
Povuholo
It's compatible, but doesn't change anything in SI. You want this. :)
DeusXMachina
Though your decision may be made already, I'd like to take up the cudgels for OOO. It's true, OOO changes a lot more than Fran's, but that's what makes it especially interesting imho, because it never breaks immersion. Concerning conflicts with mods like projectile speed: in most of the cases these can be solved by working with the load order. Also, there's a light version of OOO which provides a lot of features in a modular and optional form. The best is, the newest version of OOO (RC2 is released atm) comes as an .esm which makes it easily possible to tweak it with additional esps. Though the final is not released yet, there are already some nice addons for it. Last, the newest OOO comes with some fully worked out additional quests which give some nice game experience especially for higher chars.
