Fallout 4 - Pipboy Health Bar

Is it me or is the Fallout 4 Health bar in the Pipboy completely useless?

So you are on low health you go into the Pipboy and you pop a couple of Purified Water bottles, you scroll over a Squirrel on stick but the Pipboy UI is still showing you what health you would gain as if you hadn't even used the Purified Water! for all you know you are already at full health or you might not even be at 50% yet

only way to find out? go out of the Pipboy and look at the damn bar on the main game HUD.

Please tell me i am being a blind idiot and the game UI isnt this badly designed.

If i am correct, how are you guys dealing with this problem, are there any alternatives or is there a mod or something to shows you the current Health bar on the Pipboy?

Thanks.

No you are not an idiot, relax.

I also have this problem when refilling my HP with other things except stimpaks like melons, tatos,Rad Meat etc.

I almost always get out of pip boy and watch my health bar be one tick to full and it drives me crazy.

Wait for the glorious Creation Kit

I don't seem to have this issue? It shows me my current health on the bar, and a dimmer projected total of what my future hp will look like if I consume the food. Hovering over a second item after consuming the first will show me a new projected total that includes the one eaten, and the one uneaten. This projected total will also display on my HUD when I exit the pipboy. I'm usin' stuff like cram and squirrel bits, and glowy mushrooms. Standard and non-standard sorts of foods both, assuming there's any difference.

What I DO notice is when consuming items on your aid tab, that bar doesn't show literal health. If you're missing 50hp due to rad poisoning and eat some food, an item that appears as if it will heal you to 'full' is actually healing you to your currently-available max. At least, it seems to act that way.

I'm playing on survival where healing items act very slowly, so I question whether the rate things heal at has some sort of lamesauce impact on the display? Not sure. I'll be more attentive when I need to heal next and note any curiosities.

Also of note, I am using the most recent beta.

I am glad i'm not the only one, i was just on the game again testing out he health bar, this time it is updating my health with each item i eat, only thing i can think of is it is temperamental due to some bug or they fixed it in a recent patch?

Today was the first time i noticed it working correctly after a few days worth of gameplay time.

even when working as intended it isn't the best bit of UI.

(also there are many other bugs that are temperamental like sometimes i get stuck at terminals after exiting them, i can look around but not move, another were i cant access containers anymore randomly. i have to load the last save.... point is health bar bug could be something that is triggered like the others.)
