energy weapon silencers

just as the title says, i never knew why the lasers never had the option to be silent, and im looking to see if someone can fix this, preferably in attachment form, if i knew how to do it, i would do it myself, however, i dont have the time to learn :P

i would assume it would be fairly easy to create, a muzzle attachment for laser, institute, and musket (possibly plasma, but im not sure how that would be implemented, maybe a separate silent variation of the barrels (much like the improved versions)

until we are able to modify and import new meshes (without ripping them from other weapons (though that could actually be interesting... more work though) it would probably be easier to just make a variation of the focused muzzle (or gyro mod for institute weapons) and make it make the laser weapon silent

if a creator wanted to do some ripping of parts from other guns, maybe take the silencer from the 10mm pistol (looks like it would look better on the laser weapons than a round silencer), and position it so it falls on the end of the barrel

just a suggestion, but its something missing from the vanilla game, and i wouldn't assume it would be too hard to create, depending on the route the creator takes :3

laser weapons unless poorly designed would indeed be very quiet or silent. at most there would be a whine from the capacitors and maybe creeking from the cooling components depending upon how the gun was made. laser beams if indeed bright enough to leave a trail of plasma the glows would cause most people that see it to be blinded.

plasma is a bit of a different issue as the pulse itself causes a crackling sound as it would travel through the air until the magnetic containment of the pulse dissolves at distance or impacts something. so it could be heard coming as it is a subsonic round. the act of firing would be mostly silent.
