hitachino
Hi guys, Had a search and didn't find anything that could help me, but if this has been answered before I do apologise. I've installed a standalone copy of Fallout 4 i.e. not via Steam and I cannot get mods or plugins working whatsoever. I've followed the instructions here: http://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_Installation and edited my Fallout4_Default.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini. It's worth noting here I have tried bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 along with sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERFX\, VIDEO\ as well as each separately I've copied the files from each mod's textures folder into my D:/Games/Fallout4/Data/Textures folder making sure to do this correctly, that is I've replaced original games files with mod files, and then added additional mod files manually so ensure no mods are overwriting each other. I've also tried installing mods with the mod manager before this, but that didn't work, so uninstalled that and redid the process manually (as described above). In game I get precisely nothing, nada, zilch. The game is exactly the same, nothing has changed and no mods or plugins are working. Driving me absolutely mad... If anyone has any suggestions they would be very welcome! Also the 3 mods I am trying to get working (alongside a host of others) are Improved Map with Visible Road, A Little Bit of Green and Vivid Fallout 1k Landscapes. Thanks for any help you can offer! EDIT: For anyone interested I was using a version bought from a dodgy Russian site which didn't need any additional content from Steam. After reading up online it seems that maybe this was the issue. I have now bought the Steam version of the game instead of the cheap Russian version I was running, will test and get back with results. hitachino
Gypsy Russian website version of the game was the issue. Steam version of the game works fine.Lesson learnt: if it costs £15, it's probably BS. EDIT: Why wouldn't it work? Gypsy version had no Steam data folder, presumably because it was completely illegitimate so NMM was writing to a nonexistent file, and I was editing Fallout4_Default.ini NOT Fallout4.ini (in users/mygames/etc). Could probably get this to work with some tweaking, but f**k that. Edited December 7, 2015 by hitachino

bben46
Still pirated -If you buy something that was stolen, it is still stolen. If you are caught, you could be prosecuted for receiving stolen goods. And at the very least the stolen property would be confiscated with no payment to you. If you were dumb enough to pay a pirate for stolen software - the same rules apply. It is still pirated software. Welcome back to the legal side.

Saving £25 was not worth it in the long run XD
