Evilangelica
I'm trying to get into modding as I have some great ideas and would love to make them happen. However, I am really stuck at first base...I'm ok creating a dds picture file but, how do you create a dds texture file? (Or maybe it's not possible to create the correct files without an nVidia card?)
Lisnpuppy
If the item's name is for example mytexture.dds then it is in a dds texture format and it looks like (and can be viewed if the program views dds) a weird picture but is in fact a dds texture.if it says mytexture.jpeg or any other extension it is not. You have to make/save the file using a program like Photoshop, gimp or something to convert the picture to a dds format. For photoshop and gimp the ability would be included in the program, an extension can be downloaded or the conversion is the ability of the program. There are some basic tutorials on making textures if you google them also. I hope this helps more than confuses you? lol
Evilangelica
Thanks for the reply but I think maybe you didn't properly understand my question. If you look in the FO4 textures folder there are dds files that look like pictures (I've been told (maybe incorrectly) these are the actual physical look of the object) and there are dds files that look like pink blocks (these are the textures that will be applied to the object) I use photoshop and I can create the former (the picture dds files) but, I don't understand what the pink block files are for or how to create them.
