thejake1453
yeah thats right they did put horns on, idiots, they got myhtology - holey crap! *had starcraft2 website loading in back round* ohh my god that was a good surprise- the mythology right, but did they know that horns on norse helmets where purely seremonial? noooooooooooooooooo
Marcus Wolfe
The norse don't need much change of a change. Maybe the Nidhogg should be bigger and more terrifing. The Trolls should throw bigger rocks. "Walking forest" god power should result in ents. But other than that, the norse are dead on. Now the other civilizations, they need a bit of a change. Neither Eygptians nor greeks coexisted with viking warriors. They should actually be replaced in my opinion. The Egyptians we could replace with an Aboriginal civilization. This makes sense, because Vikings came to North America and made temporary settlements there (they called it Vinland). This could actually be part of the single player campaign. Hint hint.and besides, Who wouldn't like to command thunderbirds, spirit wolves, orcas and worship the Great Spirit as they appear in Aboriginal art?www.britannica.com/ebc/art-34518www.sa-cinn.com/Decals.htmReplace monuments with totm poles, swap pharohs with war chiefs, make a priest a medicine man, and pretty soon, you won't be walking like an Egyptian! The Greeks were okay, but I think they can be replaced with Celts. The Celts have a good back ground, being Irish and all. Also accesible to vikings. Hint hintPlus, which would you rather see:MinotaurVSTheseuswww.curriculum.edu.au/.../greekmyths.htmlorBEOWULF VS GRENDEL?www.wildlife-fantasy.com/artwork/beowulf.php(you'll have to forgive me if Beowulf isn't Celtic, I'm not so big on mythology nowdays)On that hand, if you're going to have heros with names, you might as well have them do serious bonus damage to certain myth units; specifically, the ones who made them famous,
ninja_lord666
<this quote has been edited for being too large>The Norse are dead on...except for the horns on the helmets. No, screw the Indians; I would much rather have Egyptians. Also, the Greeks are staple mythology; you *need* them. One more thing, Beowolf is Norse...However, they should add in the Celts. Everyone leaves out the Celts. My Ancient Civ. class left out the Celts. I WANT CELTS! However, we need to set some boundaries if they are to add Celts. First, THE CELTS DID NOT BUILD STONEHENGE!!! I can't believe how many people actually believe that! The Celts emerged around 300BC and Stonehenge was first recorded to have been build at about 3100BC. Also, the druids would have done their rituals in more earthy places where life was all around them like a forest or a mountain not a field in the middle of nowhere. If they add Celts, and the Celts have something to do with Stonehenge in the game, I will never buy it! In fact, I will condemn it and advocate boycotting it. Marcus Wolfe
Aboriginal is a term that applies to Natives of North and South America as well as those of Australia. I'm getting a good Celtic vibe here. Yes, the Celts are very important. Sorry about the Beowulf and Grendel mixup, but I always remembered that Norse mythology was always about the gods and never about the humans. Maybe the Beowulf vs Grendel match should be part of the campaign? Nah, Beowulf would have to be insanely over powered, remember how he RIPPED OFF GRENDEL'S ARM?Fine, Celts would not replace greeks, Aboriginals would not replace egyptians, but all should make it into the game. If you think about it, the Aboriginals could be structured to play similarily to the egyptiansEgyptians AboriginalsPharoh War ChiefPriest ShamanMonument Totem polePhoenix ThunderbirdProsperity PotlatchRoc Giant RavenLocust Swarm Mosquito Swarm

Marcus Wolfe
.....anyways.....I've had more thoughts. If you wanted to, you could have an Aztec or Incan civilization that would play like the Norse. Most of the Aztec empire was gained in order to ensure daily sacrifices to the gods. Please keep in mind that I said this could work. I never said it should or shouldn't be incorporated. With that out of the way, we might as well discuss new myth units/god powers we'd like to see or change. I would like to change the walking woods power so that the walking trees would look more like ents. The mummy should be replaced. Or at least, you should only be able to get a mummy when your Pharoh dies. You should only be able to have one colossus, but he would be unbelievably huge! I could say the same for Fenris Wolf and Jormund. This may result in some balancing issues.....

The Aztecs could work as a new faction, considering their bloodthirsty gods and awe-inspiring statues. Think Rise of Legends, with the Sun Idols and those jaguar things. Could work very well indeed. I guess the Inca could work too, but I don't know too much about them.

Marcus Wolfe
YAY! Nobody flamed me!Back to the myth units.......perhaps what mythic age god you choose would determine what titan you get.Or maybe it's the main god that should do that. As long as wee're discussing the possibility of different titans, I'd like to see the Fenris Wolf made into a titan. I'd like to see some flying titans (Phoenix, Thungerbird, Nidhogg) and some sea-going titans (The Jormund and the leviathon). As for Asian cultures.....great idea, but there's only going to so much one can fit in a game. Perhaps an expansion set?
