Maranthis Posted May 13, 2007 Share Posted May 13, 2007 Hey i have a challenge for all you modders out there, i have the mehrunes razor plugin right? well i want to use the same type of effect of stealing souls as mehrunes razor. But i want to make it so it says (weapon i chose) has claimed this soul! souls claimed..(#) and have the hole instantkill effect same as mehrunes razor, but everytime i use mehrunes said script it keeps deleting the enchantment on said weapon. Could anyone help me mod the script so it could be used on any weapon i choose, so all i had to do was fill in the name of the weapon i wanted and it would still do the same effect as Mehrunes razor? it seems a matter of just adjusting the script to not have to rely on mehrunes quest and all to perform said effect. i could email a copy of the scrip to said moder for altering, if anyone would be up to the task? :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As for the 'souls claimed' bit, you could probably do that by adding a line (to the section of the script that does the killing) that increments a variable in a dummy quest script (that is, a script for a quest whose sole purpose is the existence of said variable). I am trying to use the enchantment on Frostmourne but every time i apply the same enchantment on Frostmourne as Mehrunes Razor, when i get ingame it doesnt have the enchant, and when i exit to see why it says, Duplicate Script ID, renaming to Frostmourneenchantdupicate0001, and so it wont let me put it on there from some ODD reason.. so what i am asking for is an alteration of the scrip so that it does the same thing but it can be used on ANY weapon and wont require you to have Mehrunes DLC quest to use.. again i can send you a copy of the script if you think ya can pull it off.. Looks like it...I think he is trying to make new mod using enchantment from another mod. Which won't work, need to set that mod active and save the changes to same mod that enchantment is part of. It can be done to one mod, just implement the same changes from one mod to another. I've already done it, as a matter of fact, but I'm still a little confused as to why maranthis wants a counter on the weapon if not to upgrade it with more souls. If I get an idea for more to add to it, I'll put it up for download, but as it is it doesn't seem like it'd be worth anybody's time to download. All it is composed of is a quest variable that holds the number of souls, and a script that is copied off of the mehrunes razor script which references that variable. Maranthis Posted May 19, 2007 Author Share Posted May 19, 2007 I fixed the scrip to what i wanted to do, and i just wanted the weapon Frostmourne to claim the soul of his victims as it does in Warcraft lore not just trap the soul in a little soulgem, if i wanted that i would have gotten umbra ^_^ which is a cool sword, but anyway i can send the script to anyone who wants it or i will try to post the updated script version (if people want it). i just wanted it to do what it does in warcraft lore, thanks for everyones interest and help and suggestions :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
