iAMtHESushighost
First of all, sorry if this might be the wrong section to post in, if you think I might get a better response elsewhere, please let me know where. So I recall awhile ago trying to mod fallout 3, and so I clicked download with NMM, went into files, selected fallout 3.exe, and foolishly without checking to see if it worked once, clicked always open using this. And now it tries to run fallout 3 every time I click download with Nexus Mod Manager.I've tried uninstalling NMM, then re-installing it and deleting fallout3.exe (which now just gives the page a grey tint when I click download with NMM.P.S. It's this way with fallout 4, fallout 3, or anything else. Can anyone help?
roamwild
It sounds like you set your browser to associate nxm:// URLs with Fallout3.exe. I'm pretty sure that the installation process for NMM allows you to "associate nxm:// URLs with Nexus Mod Manager". I believe the option is ticked by default during installation. Seems like you've tried this if you have reinstalled the program. Alternatively, try doing a web search for "change (browser name) file associations". Of course take out the " " quotes and the ( ) parentheses, substituting (browser name) for.. the name of your browser. If you're using Firefox I can tell you that you will need to click Tools -- Options -- Applications. Find the entry for NXM and point it to your NMM exe. If your Menu Bar is hidden and you don't see File, Edit, View, etc then press the Alt key and the menu bar should be revealed.
