Help needed with Nifskope

I am currently trying to make some weapons using Nifskope.

I am currently trying to open the .nif files for the sickles already in Oblivion (the little ones) so that I can place it right for wielding. But i can't find the .nif file. I looked in CS to see what file it was in (I loaded up the 'handsickle01' in 'items-miscitems-clutter' file to check what the .nif file was called and what the name of the folder was), but I can't find the file specified. As a matter of fact, I can't find any of the .nif files from vanila Oblivion (like Weapons etc.)

Is there a way to open the file using NifSkope?

Yeah you need to use tes4bsa and extract all the nif files and then you can do lots of things.

Er yeah as has already pretty much been said here. Please don't repeat what's said in a thread as it's a bit pointless and spammy, and thus against the rules. Make sure your post really contributes something before posting. Thanks. ^^

The individual assets such as meshes and textures are stored in compressed BSA files. To access them you need to unpack them. Follow this link and you'll find an excellent tutorial that details how to do it: -

Hope this helps ;)

It did, thanks. :)

Right then. I've upacked the BSAs, loaded up the Sickle in NifSkope and, a white sickle shape has appeared and I'm staring at the screen like this  and clicking aimlessly. Help!

Please.

Firstly: You were aware there's already a mod that does this, right? No big deal if you want your own or to do it as a learning experience, but if you just want playable sickles try Deadly Clutter.

Otherwise:

It's going to be rather difficult to correctly position the scythe for wielding in NifSkope. When making sickles/scythes for my mod, I imported them into Blender to do the rotation part and then exported again.

If you want to try doing it the hard way, click on the part on the left that says "nitrishape" or "nitristrips," then look at the panel down at the bottom. Scroll down it until you see a set of numbers that say x, y and z. This is the object's position. There is a rotation one nearby also.

I have got Blender (Your Tutorials Rock BTW)

Is this how you export?:

'File - Export - .obj' put in <folder name>, open Blender 'File - Import - .obj' find <fille name> in <folder name>, 'open'

Is there an easy way to do the rotating?
