Indigoblade
I found that they use stimpacks and stealthboys if they have them, but do Raiders or gunners also use chems? Have anyone notice them injecting themselves with that stuff?
Moraelin
Hmm... good question. The animations definitely exist, since I've seen a raider huffing pai... err... Jet in the Drug Den. But it wasn't in combat, he was just scripted to be seen doing drugs. I don't really recall seeing them doing drugs in combat, but I have to confess that I wasn't really paying attention to that. TakaraPRG
I have only seen them use stimpacks. I'm not sure how the game would show a raider taking Jet from the player perspective other then making them super fast? The rest of the drugs might be easier as they reduce damage taken or increase damage given.
Moraelin
Well, maybe the Jet (and derivatives) are a bit tricky, but, as you say, Psycho or Med-X would be trivial to implement.
Deathlock47
i know for a fact that companions use chems. it just gets used in combat with no animations. buff, psycho, medx but not stuff like mentats and jet.
TheSpaceShuttleChallenger
They have huffing and injecting animations as well as a catatonic animation, but as far as I can tell it's just for lore reasons and doesn't have any gameplay effect. I can't imagine why Bethesda would pursue chem use for NPCs. It has potential to cause balance issues, and since there's no counterplay and no reliable way of knowing who is on chems (and what chem they're on) it wouldn't really contribute anything to gameplay that stat randomization doesn't already provide. tomomi1922
I have a mod called Raider Overhaul so my game behavior may be different than vanilla.I find that most raiders do not even carry chem. I know this because I went all out to try 1 shot them (so they dont have a chance to fight back) with my stealth sniper character (with maxed out stealth perks) and with .50 caliber mod. So that is only to say my sniper 1 shot raiders for breakfast. Looting the dead bodies reveal they do not carry chem. So this is why they don't use them because they got none. Now with Raider Overhaul installed, I found this very typical that they at least heal themselves when they have chem since Raider Overhaul spawns them with more equipment and limited amount of chem. On one of my newer character struggling to survive a raider ambush. This raider hid behind a tree and keeps pinning me down. My character is an automatic weapon expert at low level so she has no weapon with scope to aim. Shooting someone behind a tree is painful. I got the raider down to 5% of health... and low and behold .... she used a stim pack and got health to some 50%. TheGadget1945
My settlers at Abernathy Farm love a spot of recreational chem use.. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/Images/75179/?

Jj ...Oh yeah, companions are unstoppable if you have stacks of aid supply for them. Problem is they do not have any perk to take advantage of chem use (like that stimpak perk that heals you more than 30% per hit). So unless you have so many spare or use console, they will be unstoppable, but also waste tons of stimpak. Hmmm, I am going to throw my companions a ton of chem and see how they do.
