Doctor Eternal
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the music for Oblivion- that is in fact what inspired me to do a total music conversion. Here are a few scenes with my music included. Expect the beta version around mid-June. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzXgF6xZPfw I am doing this for two reasons: 1. I love Oblivion. I play it at least 2-3 hours a day, and have been inspired by the music. and 2. I am looking to get contracts to make music for other video games, and am hoping this MOD will attract some attention. Visit http://www.TuringShop.com for more information about my music. Dr.E
Guest
Reminds me very much of Final Fantasy. From a classical standpoint, I was expecting the music to be a little more harmonically rich. It sounds very much like modern music, and I'm not really a fan. I think the setting of Oblivion would go better with some Renaissance/Baroque style music, maybe even some Gregorian style chants. Some eerie sounding chorales would go nice with the softer bits, but of course synthing choirs is very difficult to get it to sound good. The main influence I would take into Oblivion would be Bach I suppose, I'm not much of a fan of renaissance and I think his style of harmony would go very well (think toccata and fugue in a dramatic section?). I can't remember the original music from Oblivion though, just I think it would be nice with some rich cadences.
Sypron
You did a nice job with the music, but Its not something I would expect to here in oblivion. It reminds me of stuff I heard in Fable. And I don't mean this, but I just have to quote it: "I didn't like it, too many notes"
Switch
Hmm if you're thinking of including this in your portfolio I'm not sure Oblivion is a very good test subject for it. Oblivion has a full orchestral soundtrack (that it's won multiple awards for), and it sounds like what you did is just synth stuff. Not that it isn't good, it just can't compete with the sound of a real orchestra IMO.
