I might join this. I've been waiting for a new rp thread for ages. BUT I don't think I will until there are some fair, clear rules which are going to work. To be honest, those rules you've written won't do. I agree with everything Peregrine has said. Make some proper rules (or use the D&D rules), and you can count me in. Otherwise I'll just wait for another thread, which I'll know will work.

Yes, I completely agree with Peregrine as well.

I wasn't planning on doing anything like what he said, but with the 'rules' you made, I should, just for fun :D

Also, my spell list was made by the spells in Icewind Dale II, meaning these spells are actually in the game, but by your reasoning, I couldn't have them. >:(

...Maybe I should widen my horizons and change my spell list to include the spells in the other Forgotten Realms games... :unsure:

seeing as you all want dice, and the only die i have is sixsided, and i dint know where it is, someone else can take over as the DM for this roleplaying world, or it can be locked.

if someone does want to take over as DM i think it should be peregrine or malchik, but malchik has his hands full with his own RP world.

We didn't say you had to have dice (although it is a good idea). Just a clear set of rules which we know will work.

 

Besides, can't you just download a dice rolling program off the internet? There must be hundreds of them out there- they're not difficult to make. I mean, I could probably make one, and I don't know the first thing about programming.

I'll list all of my new additions:

Blur: Distorts the caster's image causing it to be more difficult for the enemy to hit him

Web: Creates a field of webbing to trap anything moving through it.

Stoneskin: Increases the caster's defense so he is almost invincible; lasts for 12 hours.

Cone of Cold: Causes severe cold damage to anyone within a conical area near the caster.

Domination: Same as charm but has no save.

Power Word: Stun: Stuns the target in place for several turns causing him to not be able to do anything; no save.

Incendiary Cloud: Different name for Firey Cloud

Maze: Teleports the target to an alternate dimension where it has to spend hours wandering around a maze trying to find it's way out.

Simulacrum: Creates an exact copy of the caster, but it only has 60% of the caster's power.

Spellstrike: Removes all enchantments from target; no save.

Time Stop: Causes time to stop for all but the caster; lasts for 6 rounds.

Let me think about this for a bit.... no.

 

1) I don't have the time or motivation to do all the extra work of DMing (and it's a lot, if you want to do it well).

 

2) I really don't want to put that much work into it for this group of people. Get some maturity, learn to write, and maybe we'll talk.

 

3) Hell will be frozen over before I run a game with such an awful "story". It was barely acceptable as a player, and only because I planned to go 180* off in a new direction the moment we started.

Well, the problem is if he doesn't have any dice (or know about these programs already), he doesn't understand the D&D rules anyway. So it's pretty much a lost cause, there's no chance he'll be able to come up with a fair and working rules system.

@ Peregrine: Now maybe others aren't good at writing, but not me. My writing is great. I'm not planning on becoming a novelist for no good reason ;) .
