pc vs console

hello and welcome to a poll forum, I have a youtube channel and after Christmas now I am looking into making a new video for youtube with the peoples opinions of what they prefer, pc or console. Also I would like to know what yall think of exclusives for pc or console only as well as console specific exclusives such as only ps4 or wii, etc. I would also like to know if yall think pc gaming will overtake console gaming to the point that every game on the consoles are also on the pc or to the point that gaming companies only make pc games so that the consoles are dead, and they make software for pcs to play there games. All in all tell me what you think so your voice can some what be heard lol.

to be honest i think both are going to remain strong for gaming. i prefer PC due to modding and for better over all limitations, but i can see why people prefer consoles honestly.

i view PC gaming as the place 'serious' gamers, tech nerds, people who dont have the money to afford a console and already own a PC so screw it, and people who like to further their games with mods.

consoles are more of a place that casuals, families, little people (kids), people who are confused by computers, and those who prefer to sit on a couch and game go to play.

both have a mix of each others groups but that is generally the way i have seen things. i like consoles only for the controller aspect and that isnt an issue these days with controllers working on PCs as well. the only issue i have with consoles is simply what they are doing to gaming as a whole, with large game companies 'dumbing down' their games so that they work with consoles and then stabbing the PC guys by giving them the same game but with bad controls and interfaces. like look at FO4 and it's dialog wheel for example it was clearly made to be compatible with controllers and reduce the reading needed. to be honest i dont like that and think that is just non-sense. there are many more instances of this as well, though some people should give a couple companies a break as they are just starting to release to PC so their ports have been... lack luster.

thank you qwertyzeldar but I find the whole play from your couch irrelative due to the fact that pc gaming is not really left to a desk anymore with the new tvs and monitors. Speaking from experience on this as I play in my bedroom at the moment from a lazyboy chair with my key board in my lap for quick typing and my mouse comfortably next to me on a folding table. I do agree with your view of fallout 4. and I even tried oblivion for 360 when it was out but due to the lag of trying to play it with decent settings found that its just not worth it and that was years before I even knew modding excisted. Now knowing all that I know (roughly when the GOTY edition of oblivion came to pc) there are very few games I even consider ever buying for console if they are on pc. and if alienware(sp) gets there act together on there alpha thing I think they have a chance of taking over console gaming. non the less you have good points.

Kind of silly asking whether people prefer a PC or console on a PC site. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f351/charonn0/ohgeez-1.gif

Lets see now, Do I own a PC or a console? If I used a console why would I be here?

Maybe this would get a more diverse opinion on Steam or Beth forums?

i agree with that, but most console gamers who use the couch excuse dont realize that. (i actually sit on my couch with my screens sitting... well all over my room.) also some people dont want to spend a ton of money on computer hardware which is far more money then a TV and console normally (unless you know how to find good parts for cheap which most do not know how.)

As an owner, and long-time user, of both (and not just one brand of console, and not just Windows), I'd say my answer is "both" or "all of the above." I like videogames and videogame accessories, not class politics or holy wars, and whatever widget allows me to enjoy videogames and videogame accessories will get my dollar. I think both platforms have strengths and weaknesses (the biggest, as I see it, is that consoles are more elegant solutions, while PCs are more flexible). I don't think there's any benefit to consumers if we were to say all gaming must exist on one platform (be it Windows, PlayStation, etc) - monopolies never benefit the consumer, only the supplier.

consoles are getting better as well, they will never surpass the PC but they are doing well. though i do have to complain about one major feature that consoles used to be great for which was the co-op gameplay. i really miss that these days as companies keep forcing people to play online to game together because they think no one wants to play together on one console... it's quite sad. i always enjoyed playing split screen with my brother when he came over to visit.

I think its an error to assume that "consoles" are trying to "catch up" to PCs (or vice versa) - they're different machines designed for different applications, and each is more ideal for its targeted application. Side-by-side or local co-op was certainly a unique feature (it did exist on PCs too) - my guess would be that not enough users actually needed or wanted it for developers to spend the time getting it to work though. Remember that game developers and publishers are in business to make money, so they'll build what they think they can sell - they aren't arbitrarily being "the decider" on things and forcing people to try and accede to their will.

no i wasnt saying they were 'the deciders' i was saying that they are assuming people dont want it so they are getting rid of it.
