AND then screwed up the password terminals (so now i cant continue) then saved......Is there any way to reverse this so i can complete the quest without having to restart the game? thx

If your on a PC, which I assume you are seeing as nexus is mainly a modding site...

You can fix the terminal by pressing ~ then clicking on them and typing "unlock" (without the "")

As for the quest itself, i haven't found a way to use console commands to restart a failed quest.

You could give the following a try: resetquest <base id> whereas the base id here is the id of the "blood ties" quest.

So the command to reset blood ties is: resetquest 00014E9C

However, since you killed the family, I guess you'd have to use the ressurect command on all of them. (or at least those you need for the quest) I'm guessing you'd better do it after you use the resetquest otherwise they will remain hostile.

No success guaranteed though. (this is all just of the top off my head)

Aside: Did you not have a previous savegame then? I always use at least 2 save-games for FO3 because some saves can become corrupt.

ok, ive tried ~ then unlock, while on the terminal, but i get a message saying, need a refernece. im guess thats because i don't know how to use unlock, any advice?

thx

Yes, when you're facing the terminal, hit the ~ key then click on terminal with your mouse. (you can see when it's selected when you see it's ref-id and it's name), then use unlock, and... bingo! Hope this helps.

Edit: You don't have to activate the terminal mind you, you just have to stand in front of it.
