samroski
Always play first person. Can't play third person- having grown up on games like Mercenary (mid-80s), and then Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake et al can't get used to 3rd person- though did play Max Payne for a week or so- which was not a bad experience. Generally do not like looking at the back side of my character- and also feel that a significant (central) part of the screen is taken up by the character in third person- and I prefer to look at the scenery/game. Am not into seeing animations of my character- but prefer the real life view that we get- which good first person games incorporate. Would not be playing Morrowind and Oblivion if they had not been designed as first person games.
wizardmirth
Primarily 1st though I really prefer 3rd kind of player. Been switching to 3rd more frequently recently, especially during combat. It's just so much more fun and good for when enemies like to circle you.
rad666a
I play 3rd almost exclusively. I have a 3rd person cross hair mod where the cross hair only appears when in sneak, but it does show me things such as the "you can pick this up" icon, the door icon, the illegal (red) icon, but not the speech icon. I have no problem hitting with my spells in 3rd person, put your head over the target. It is hard to hit small things like imps, but things like orges and trolls are easy. I only use 1st person when I need to make a long distance shot or shoot a weylken(sp?) stone off a pedestal.
