At the school where I go, chocolate pie is usually the generic answer for the guys. I'd like to say that's my favorite, but I've never had chocolate pie before, so it's not really right for me to say that is it?

Apple pie is my favorite.

Wait, I just had a brilliant idea.....

CHOCOLATE AND PEANUT BUTTER PIE!!!!!

It would be like a giant reese in a pie shell.

Wait....better idea.......banana, peanut butter and honey sandwhichs are good, so imagine...../.

CHOCOLATE, PEANUT BUTTER PIE, BANANA AND HONEY PIE!!!!!

That would be sooooooooo awesome.

Hell, a banana pie wouldn't be bad either.

My husband's grandmother makes "Harvest Pie" every year for (American) Thanksgiving dinners. She says it is cause grandpa loves it and begs for it every year. I used to fight over pumpkin pie or the rhubarb "cake" (I hate sweet too). After I tasted hers, I love Harvest Pie.

I asked her once for the recipe. I laughed when she told me the secret. She substitutes all the leftover gourds after harvest is over for the pumpkin in it. So you get gourd pie. Acorn, squash, anything, cooked just like pumpkin and thrown in.

As for Americans loving sweet, personally, I try to cut the recipe sugar out as much as possible, or substitute equal parts applesauce for the sugar. Works great in banana breads too, or zhuchini breads. MMMMMMMM.

I think another favorite of mine, was the pudding pies. Don't laugh, but Mom used to put pudding in a pie shell, set it in the fridge to solidify, then serve that. Wasn't bad. Prefer my Harvest Pie now, though. I remember chocolate, and butter scotch, my brother remembers chocolate with a cup of peanut butter in it. My mom now doesn't remember either, but she remembers chocolate and peanut butter fudgecicles, homemade. Can't even ask for the recipe now. lol, because she doesn't remember making them.

I loooove French Silk pie from Baker's Square. For those of you who don't live in the upper midwest in the US, it's a sit down restaurant, but the make the best pies. When I fly home to Mn I always stop there just to pick one up. My uncle also makes a pumpkin pie that I can't say no to however full I am.

Ah, another Minnesotan...

Yeah, Bakers Square does have REALLY good pies. Unfortunatly it has gone bankrupt and needs to close. :(

My Grandma makes DELICIOUS Pumpkin Pie (my fav!). Sometimes it's a "Yam Pie."

Either way it's great! Yum! Now I want some pie... :P
