Problem changing characters race

I have used the character amulet to change my character from a nord to a mystic elf. The character is a lvl 19 nord with vampirism. When I change I loose vampirism, but hunters site is still a power. When I cast it, it lasts forever. Is there a way to remove it? Add vampirism?

 

Also, I had to manually change my stats that were reset. When I did that in the console the game made me level 3 times. Is there a way to edit stats that won't force leveling?

The game wasn't meant to be able to change race in the middle of gameplay, and, thus, seriously screws with everything when you do. There is no way to fix it from what I know.

Actually, I think it can be done. The character amulet is just a rubbish mod, I know as I tried it myself and it does screw up your character. Using the console is better. Same old technique, I believe this has been posted several times:

1. Open console, type showracemenu
   
2. Make any changes you want to
   
3. Keep console open and press ESC
   
4. Save your game to a new file
   
5. Load new file
   
6. Hey presto character changed with no stat strangeness!
   

Of course certain stat/skill bonuses offered by your new race may still alter things a bit, I'm not sure. Also it may still screw your vampirism, I don't know as I haven't tried this with vampirism before.

Yes it does. You have to keep the console open when you press ESC after the changes in the race menu, otherwise you can't save.
