MaGlas
Skyrim Arrow Overhaul Hello folks, I have been working on new Arrow Models for Skyrim, and replace Skyrims different material Arrow System with a new Arrow-Type system. Now you need to choose the right arrow in the right situations, to get your kills:The player has this selection of this arrows and Bolts:http://fs5.directupload.net/images/151230/6ffb2j28.png- Hammer-Head: Low range projectile/ Low Damage/ Gives chance to stagger the enemy/ advanced Damage on Dwemer-Mechatrons- Firearrow: Low range projectile/ Medium Damage/ Fire Damage- Broad-Head: Medium range projectile/ High Damage/ Low bleeding Damage/ reduced damage on armored opponents- Sickle-Head: Medium range projectile/ High Damage/ High bleeding Damage/ nearly no damage on armored opponents- Point-Head: High range projectile/ Small Damage/ Ignores most of the enemys armor- Whisle-Head: High range projectile/ very Small Damage/ Lures Enemys to its impact-spot But that isn´t all of the features I wanted to add with this mod:Thanks to flexcreator I posses a script to be able to make quivers a single/equipable object. It is to be described like this:- The player has to equip an quiver to be able to carry arrows.- The quiver limits the ammount of arrows the player can carry.- The player can choose from Iron-Quiver to Daedric-Quiver (Iron has lowest carry-capacity while Daedric the highest)- When the player removes his quivers, all of his arrows will be dropped infront of him. A ingame book-guide will introduce the player into this new arrows system. Jobs:To get this mod released I still need your guys help.Whats needed:- I have the new Quiver-Meshes ready, but I need somebody to export them rigged to a bone, with 3ds max.- I have no clue, how I could make enemys get lured by the whisle-arrows to its impact place, propably some scripter has a idea?- The quiverscript is working for arrows, but I propably should do the same for skyrim´s bolts. I could need a scripter who could get this script also working for bolts. Best regardsMaGlas
TheSpaceShuttleChallenger
Arrows already lure enemies when fired from stealth mode, so in order to make the whistlehead work you'd have to do absolutely nothing. In order to make whistleheads unique in that function, you'd have to code the other arrows to be ignored by detection, which I understand is a pretty simple bit of code. But the whole idea of using whistleheads as the lure arrow is the exact opposite of how it should work anyway. In order for an arrow to be effective as a lure, it needs to go undetected until it strikes. That way, all you hear is the sound of an impact, and don't realize it's an arrow until it's too late. But if you hear a loud ballistic whistle rapidly travelling from place to another at a speed that only projectiles could achieve, and then you hear the sound of an impact... and then you decide to walk over to the place that you know is receiving fire from potentially deadly projectiles instead of taking cover or following the trajectory of the sound to its source, then Dovakhiin need not waste his time being crafty with you. He could have just left you with a fork and a power outlet and let natural selection finish you off. So if I can make a suggestion, I think your whistling arrows could be both more realistic and provide a more unique/interesting mechanic if you followed their actual historical uses. Their conspicuous sound made them terrifying for enemies and easy for allies to locate. My guess is that most common use, message delivery, isn't going to be very applicable in Skyrim (because it's a single player game and the AIs don't cooperate) but I'm thinking that whistling arrows could mark their target to be ganked by allies/followers, or they could cast a mild fear spell wherever they strike. Or both. Either way, it would add something new to the game and it would be remotely plausible. MaGlas
Yeah sounds like a good idea TSSC. I will try this and see how your idea looks ingame. "Arrows already lure enemies when fired from stealth mode, so in order to make the whistlehead work you'd have to do absolutely nothing. In order to make whistleheads unique in that function, you'd have to code the other arrows to be ignored by detection, which I understand is a pretty simple bit of code." I know this, but I wanted to make the whisle-arrows lure enemys even from greater distances to the place of the arrow, not only the ones which are standing next to each other. It is understandable, that normal human-beeings wouldn´t going to the impact place of something, when they know it is a projectile. But Skyrim´s AI is just as stupid ^^ But yeah you made an helpfull post for me.Propably you too have some ideas what the hammer-head could do?Blunt arrows often has been used for hunting small animals, so they don´t ruin there fur, ... So I thought propably they could double the ammount of fur/hide the player´s obtain from animals? But I don´t know how to realize this ingame. Notanon81
Interesting approach with the different arrow types, along with the quiver system. Would there be provisions for dragonbone, bonemold, chitin, nordic and stalhrim quivers as well, provided the player has the required DLCs? MaGlas
Shure I too can make it for the DLC´s. But I first want it to be released for vanilla Skyrim.Still needing help with scripting and exporting models.
