Pervy Mods

I guess I just need to bite the bullet and turn off maturity filter. It just feels weird to me: I've never really needed to turn on maturity filters before on ANYTHING. Sure, there's been tits and whatnot, but it was the minority rather than the majority. Just a case of, "Scroll on". Now it's the opposite way around, and I'm a grumpy old git yelling at kids on their digital lawn... while standing in the park.

Nothing can be done about how people choose to use the site themselves.

All we can do is stress that the tools needed are already in place to avoid content the user finds distasteful or otherwise.

I personally filter all anime content. Not because its bad, I just don't want to see it.

If someone came here and protested anime mods but don't want to filter all of them, just want their personal taste for otaku (or whatever its called) then I would tell them the same things. Use the tools provided. Lift the filter for specific searches and then enable them after. Super simple.

However, having said that. And not to sound hypocritical, but I think a close up of a hairy vag might not be done in very good taste.

People that recommend turning off adult content have missed the point. For example, I want mature mods, but I do not want vulgar mods like pierced vagina hood version 3.0 with high resolution textures and bouncy vagina lips that realistically move when you run. Some nude or realistic mods may be great, and some are vulgar and way over the top.... and some are presented poorly like the "innies" mod.

To be more selective about what you see, click your name at the top right of the screen on Nexus. Select "block content" and check the boxes that you find offensive. You can do that and still leave mature content on, it is one workable solution.

Huh, there's an entire filter to block CBBE related stuff.

I agree with Vidicus, but the issue would then be in tagging. You can't really put "Genitalia" as a category either, as they are usually included in nude mods by default. So you'd get nowhere - nude modders correctly flag their mods as containing genitals, and you're back to square one.

I guess you just need to equip a snorkel so you don't drown every time you enable nudity as you prepare to wade through the ocean of high definition rippling pubic hair. Enjoy that mental image.

I'm still amazed that people were SHOCKED by how few women are on the site in that census thread.

Like really?

REALLY?

No way would I want to point the other women I know playing Fallout on PC here.... if they find it on their own, whatever. But I'm not going to be forever linked in their minds as the one who sent them to the creepy "BUTT PUBES INNIE VAG BOOBS BOOBS BOOBS" webpage.

Yes, there's a mature filter. But most people who see that assume mature is R rated. Playboy or something at worst. Not full on vulva close ups on the main page and the vibe of a sticky floor porn theater.

I'm confused about this comment. Are you saying just using the tools is missing the point, but then just tell people to use the tools?

But I agree, If you don't want to see specific stuff then block that content and move on. Someone else suggested to block that mod author as they rarely stray from one type of mod. You can filter the site to only show specifically what you want over time. It just takes effort.

Whoa, hey there. Mature content is filtered by default for all new users. You have to enable "Adult" content.

And I would say that anyone familiar with either Skyrim or past Fallout games already know about the 'adult' mods from constant YouTube exposure. If you're a gamer, you know about it. Ask anyone in general what the first thing that comes to their mind is when you say "Skyrim Mod" and they will say Nudity. (or actually list specifics)

Its entirely unreasonable to compare Nexus to a porn theater. Considering there are websites that ONLY provide adult content for Fallout and Skyrim.

Dude, there was a giant close up of a vagina on the front page for days, next to three bigger tits mods. This might not be the site that 'only' provides adult content, but they're really giving them a run for their money, and certainly working on cultivating that user base and nurturing that kind of environment.
