been awhile... just a quick Q about FO4 mods

Haven't gamed for a good while but am dl'g FO4 as I type. Weird, but it seems I've forgotten a lot of the basics. Hopefully it'll all come back soon enough.

I've scoped out a small number of mods I wanna install for my first playthrough, and noticed that a couple of 'em talk about adding the esp. name to the "plugins" txt document.

I don't recall ever doing this, and am thinking it's a thing only with manual installation. I plan on DL'g NMM and using that for FO4 - does a manager eliminate that step?

Thanks. I'll try to keep the stupid questions to a minimum as I get back into the swing of things. :P

PS... can someone link me to a good spot for recommended INI tweaks?

Yea, the whole plugins.txt thing is cause Bethesda is hell-bent on disabling mods. Probably will be until they've released the CK too. Can't say for sure the NMM eliminates this step, don't use it myself but I've heard it does.

And hehe, sounds familiar. Took me some time to get the hang of the controls back when I started FO4 (luckily they didn't change much on that end).

Hello all, I am new to the forum. I haven't done any mods for years. Did a bit of hard point and gun balancing with lighting on Freelancer when it first hit. So many better than me, I just stepped back. But I do miss the trying and wanted to take a shot at this game as I really enjoy the fallout games. FO4 did not let me down. I have DL the mod manager and only one mod. Would like to be pointed in some of the tools for mods like body slider and the like I have seen on some tube vids.

If anyone can help an old gamer and point me in a good direction, much thanks.

Can't say for sure what the body slider was made with, then again, the body slider is a tool itself isn't it? I can however point you in the direction of something else, xEdit. xEdit is currently pretty much the basis of modding, at least until Bethesda releases their Creation Kit. So that's probably the best place to start if you want to get into modding. Hope this helps ya =]
