Question about fertilizer & Foods & stores.

Do I need to do anything to have it available or just put it in the work bench?

The same as food gathered outside the settlement if placed in work bench does it count for food for the settlement as well or just for my character. I have not noticed any excess food grown to be placed in the workstation.

Stores do there materials sold come from the work station( and do I get a share of caps made) or are they hypothetically material obtained through traders?

Fertilizer needs to be collected or purchased

Food needs to be planted, water provided. Food + water must = at least 2x settlement count and Defense must be at least as food + water.

I.E. Settlers 10

For that you need minimum 10 food 10 water and 22 defence

Any food above settlers consumption is stored in the workbench

 

You can by a weightless piece of paper in stores once you click STORE ALL JUNK button at the workbench it will be transformed to complements.
