Minutemen vs Brotherhood

Oy vey... i suggest reading up,both on the in-game computers and conversation..and then on the actual NSDAP.. ,which might lead some people to a level of understanding sorely lacking... The BoS is NOT in any way a copy of the Algemeine SS..not even the Waffen SS. it falls very short of being National-socialist on all counts..the organisation is,reminiscent of the Military Orders of Knighthood that shaped Europe and dare i say it..into a,somewhat, safe place for Serfs, priests, merchants and others trying to live life in a relatively peaceful world.. the control aspect of socialism is best examplified by the Institute and,to a degree, the Railroad...I admit that the developers have gone overboard in their efforts to give the BoS a Lena Riefenstahl air..and i suspect that is by choice(personal, political or whatever)... but to cry "Nazi" is like people in RL crying Fascist, racist or whatever at anyone disagreeing with the principle of "feelings matters more than facts"..

I see the BOS hoarding technology kind of like the Knights Templar hiding the holy grail. Both fictional stories to me unless there is some proof to the contrary. They are trying to protect mankind from abuse of power. If such a thing as the holy grail does exist is keeping it hidden away from people the right thing to do with it? Could it not be used by the masses for the greater good? I like the ideals the BOS portrays but think sometimes their actions are misguided.

Some of the nicest NPCs I've run into in the game (and I've been just about everywhere) have been either ghouls or synths. So I'm a bit leery of the Fo4 BoS faction's "kill everything that's not pure" philosophy.

"What? One of our best people turns out to be 'impure'? Kill! Kill!" Yeah, no thanks.

Add to that the "unofficial" quest to go beat the farmers into submission and take their food to feed the BoS to show that they really don't care about the people.

Add into that the "we're here to prevent the errors of the past" attitude combined with "we're going to fly in on a big-ass flying fortress, using state-of-the-art powered armor and energy weapons, heading out to secure a nuclear stockpile right after arriving, and calling up a giant killer robot to do the heavy lifting", to show that they're not really concerned about preventing abuse of tech, as much as they are concerned about making sure the only people able to abuse tech are them.

Even the scribe in the first group you encounter is realizing that this faction of the BoS is not what they claim to be. And its far from the first time that the leader of a splinter faction of the BoS has gone bugnuts.

Sure, the BoS are potentially the top asskickers in the game (and don't they get sulky if the Minutemen take out the Institute), and if you're into blowing stuff up and damn the consequences, they're the faction for you. But if your character is actually trying to make the Commonwealth a better place, keeping the BoS at arms length or taking them out of the picture entirely is the way to go.

First time meeting BoS they send you into an irradiated hellhole. Maybe their acceptance of you now is part of their 'new ways'.. Or maybe they're all the ancestors of daleks and you should run. Far, far away.

so..killing off supermutants, ghouls and assortedSocialist d*ckheads is NOT caring about humanity??.. and the foraging, which is a necessary evil,is proof that the BoS are fascist pigs??..so in order for anyone being (da-da-daaaah) Defenders of all that´s right and good and soforth..they have to,basically share everything, starve to death, and speak nicely to everyone and his mother??.. hmmmm... i wonder if that principle works in the real world?.. wait,we´ve tried it all over the freaking world and get results varying from bombs in the head to protesting lefties ..freedom is´nt free..but the fact you have to do bad things to bad people in order to make the world safer..that flies right over the head of some people
