Oruboris
Having issues with the quest for Sanguine: supposed to use the everybody naked spell on the countess of Lleyawin during her party. I've talked my way into the party, but she isn't there. When I cast it at the guests who are present, their clothes dissappear [wish I had the naked mods, would make this bit more interesting], the guards try to arrest me, so I use invisibilty spells to stay out of sight. So long as I'm invisible, the spell doesn't wear out. If I leave the area, I get a failure notice. I'm guessing this is related to the countess's absence, but don't know how to proceed. It's her party, why doesn't she show up? Can't find her in the castle, though I've bumped into the count a few times... Side issue I'd appreciate help with: I've done a quest with the dark elf from Choral to uncover the origins of the competing company. I've killed who I was supposed to, but the dark elf won't go home, the quest remains in my active list, and none of the other fighters will give me other jobs. The dark elf was getting in the way in the dungeons, so I outran him to the second one, and did it without him. Now he acknowledges that the deed is done, says something like 'we'll talk later', but nothing is progressing. Thanks for reading this...

I've talked my way into the party, but she isn't there. ...Two possibilities here: Countess Alessia Caro is either travelling to (or from) Chorrol in her monthly visit to see mother, or she's dead (having been killed on the road to and from Chorrol). Where are you in the Thieves' Guild? There's one quest there that involves the Countess, and I think she becomes killable after that quest is complete. Did you give to your Dark Elf buddy?
Oruboris
I'm Grey Fox, so maybe she has been killed: I get the green arrow on an empty chair in the dining room. Is there a way to put her back in the game? On the ring issue: I have it in inventory. Have spoken to Oryen[?] the dark elf, and he doesn't ask for/take the ring. Maybe I should go back to the dungeon, put the ring back on the guy's body: do you think that would help?
Malchik
I'll try again. I attempted earlier but the forum disappeared between typing it and sending it! Grrrr! You can use the console command placeatme to get the countess into the dinner party. Whether it will solve your problem however I don't know. To use the command you need to add her ID. We do not have a list of IDs on this site but UESP either has one or has a link that I've seen. If this doesn't work, you can also move the quest forward by using the console command setstage (see below). In the FG you are meant to follow Modreyn Oreyn until you reach the second ruin. He then has a line of dialogue telling you to take the lead. It is possible that in jumping this dialogue the quest is not updating properly. If Oreyn still follows you try taking him outside and seeing if he'll go back in. If not you will probably have to move the quest forward with the setstage command (or replay it if you have a recent enough save). Replaying is the safer option as using setstage sometimes causes other problems. Anyhow, the find the setstage command you need open the construction set and check Oblivion. After it has loaded look along the top line and click Characters. Towards the bottom of the box that opens you will see Quests and click that. The extreme left hand column gives the quest ID code which you will need. DASanguine/FGD05Oreyn are the two you are concerned with here. When you highlight the relevant quest look for the column marked 'quest stages'. This will tell you what journal updates appear as you proceed with the quest. You should be able to work out what number is the one you need. For Sanguine it could be 30 or 100, for the FG it will be 50, 60 or 100. You should save and experiment. The syntax for the setstage command is IIRC setstage DASanguine 30 etc. I hope this resolves your difficulties.
LlamaSprinter
For the Countess one you could wait 24 hours and they will still be there. Also to find the stages just use the construction kit and it will tell you all the stages.
Oruboris
Update: was able to resolve the Fighters guild issue be going back to the second ruin [Oryen was hanging out in the 'hood], waited, Oryen walked up and innitiated the necessary 'Oh good, you have the ring! I'll just take that...' conversation. I'm presumably eligable to continue up the ranks now. Haven't resolved the dinner party problem yet, haven't had much playing time. Thanks for the help: great people on this board!
JadedRyu
What dinner party? I hear about this in the paper thing of Oblivion yet I don't know how to trigger the dinner party quest, how do I do that? I doubt it's a DB/Theives Guild quest because I done both of them and never came across this quest
Magnus61
If you go to the Oblivion Wiki and check the quests for Leyawiin, you'll find the Sanguine walk through. I just completed the quest and the Countess never showed up. So I had to use the console to summon a clone. But the clone isn't really her, so you don't have to cast the 'get naked' spell. Here are the steps, once you're in the room with the four guests: 1. Summon the clone of the Countess: player.placeatme 00034E8C2. Use the command to complete the quest: setstage dasanguine 30 3. Go to Sanguine's shrine and get your reward This worked for me. I now have the staff.
Oruboris
I dunno: I waited 24 game hours, hoping she'd show, and now the soldier who lets you into the room is missing... sigh. Honestly: is the staff worth having? Since Sanguine is sort of the patron of the DB, thought it would be cool to have, but unless its really, really good, I don't think I'll worry about it. Malchik
One added problem if you don't complete the quest one way or another is that you won't be able to do Hermaeus Mora's quest either. You must complete all other daedric quests to get his.
