TalElmar
Hello fellow Vault Dwellers!I am not a modder and never was, just some basic fiddling with the console, yet recently I decided to make some fun and create a BOS-settlement of mine (in Kingsport), kinda like the forward base of operations. it's not a problem to get the BOS clothes through the console, yet the thing that bothers me is character models.Settlers have extremely repetitive faces and those that they have do not look like Brotherhood soldiers yet alone scientists.BOS characters, on the other hand, have some really nice models, with military-styled haircuts etc. Is it possible to change the models of your settlers (or generate new ones) based on BOS models? If yes, then how (PC)?Really appreciate in advance!
tomomi1922
I don't know about haircut, but SLM (ShowLookMenu) can edit body shape. And NEVER try to use one of the preset face, I tried it, it didnt' change the Settler, but when you come back to your settlement, that settler becomes ... invisible. And the only reason I caught this because .... she was the first female settler I got (beside that naggy named NPC) and I attempted to make her a nice looking gal. I assigned her a stall to attend to (I think it was the food stall). I was trying to find her after an adventure, no where to be found. Rang the bell ... she was not there (I only had 5 settlers total). So I proceeded to assign another settler to the food stall, and low and behold, the green UI hilight just outlined her invisible shape, and indeed I could talk to her (if I knew where she stands). Long story short, I had to take her to an empty place and end her misery. But enough warning, here is my solution: Better Settler modhttp://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4772/?This mod gives you clean and nice looking NPC. I don't think I can change their hair, but I can change their body shape and some other features. And yes, outfit them until your heart smiles. Some of them do look scientist too (Bodyshape helps a lot, make them skinny). I think this mod should solve 90% of your problem. The only thing left to do is to create bat files. Say, create a file at Fallout 4 Data folder, name it "BOS Initiate.txt" and within this text file you write all the commands you want to change their outfit on. According to several renaming NPC mods, they suggest that ... you should first delete all their existing gear to avoid them wearing old gear again. Then equip new gear, but let the underarmor (undergarment) to be the last piece. make sure you save this bat file in the same folder as all your .espThis is taken from a bat file made by "Who Are You" modunequipall ; unEquip Everythingremoveallitems ; Remove Everything; Equip non-undergarment apparelequipitem 000E4501 ; Medical Gogglesequipitem 000787DA ; Surgical Mask; Doctors don't kill, they subdueequipitem 0005524B ; KnucklesSetActorFullName 00F93006;-- Settler Renaming --;Target renamed to "Doctor".; Equip undergarment apparelequipitem 00178B68 ; Lab CoatNote, all text behind ";" are only comments (FO4 will ignore it, for user purpose only). This script is to give labcoat to a settler and rename him/her "Doctor". You do not have to follow exactly, just use this format, and pick and choose whatever equipment you want them to put on. Notice how they put the undergarment very last? I make a good amount of bat files for automation, such as "shipment" ... a console cheat that gives me shipment of all materials. Convenient. I am still in my modding and exploring phase, no need to be modest with hardcore gaming yet. But I must warn you about bat files ... especially with renaming script. Sometimes you target yourself or a named NPC and accidentally rename him, there is no turning back beside reloading save. And secondly, item database does shift (I think maybe only with add-on mods) so sometimes an ID is FF000323 can jump to 49000323 for no reason (there is a reason, but lets not get into that). All you do is to update the bat files. Good news is, you can create unlimited amount of bat files, and you can create them while you are in game and use them right away, no need to exit and reload game.
