So when fallout 4 came out i was excited and when a few weeks passed and the mods started to roll in, no comment. Anyway i downloaded the fallout 4 manager to get started and boy did i, tho about a week ago i went to play again and it wouldn't work. So i thought i would have to update the manager to which i found out they stopped supporting it, so i uninstall the fallout 4 manager and update nexus. But when i went to download another mod i got this

honestly I have no idea, I've reinstalled NMM, as well as fallout 4

also tried using the mod organizer to set binarys as someone in chat suggested but that didnt work either

tired to use the organizer to actually download with but apparently it cant find my fallout4.exe and the binarys in the steamapp/common/fallout4...

ive cleared internet caches

When you install any manager, it has to set the file preferences in Windows so that manager controls what Windows does when it finds a file with that specific file type. My guess is they were set by the original manager you used, and have not been changed to use a different manager. Win really doesn't handle this very well

These instructions are for Win7, if you use a different windows it may be different for you.

To check, open the Windows control panel

Select 'Default Programs' then select 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program'

find the file type '.nxm' - look at the current default for that - if you are using NMM it should be 'Nexus Mod Manager'

If it is not your current manager - then you can manually change it here,
