matrxhasyou1983
Greetings! I am using the in-development NifSkope 2.0.dev4 (rev 584126c), and Caliente's Outfit Studio. I am building for Fallout 4. NIF and DDS I am working with are here. Original works found here. This will be for personal use only for the time being, unless people really want the finished product, then I'll get permissions from the original author. I'm mainly doing this to become familiar with the tools we currently have available. My Issue:I am able to open the mesh and texture and view it just fine in Outfit Studio. I have made a few armor mashups already, so I am familiar with the basics of Outfit Studio. My goal is to add the stockings to the body. I am familiar with NifSkope up to the point of removing unwanted blocks/nodes, and exporting/saving the file, but not much more than that. I add the stocking to the CBBE body and export from Outfit Studio, overwriting the FemaleBody.nif in the appropriate directory. When I load the game, the head of the character is floating on a big red diamond with a ! in the middle... which I take to mean the body nif is missing or incompatible. I realize after the fact that I will likely need to change the texture path too... but let's get the mesh working first  What do I need to do with the mesh in order to make it compatible? Or are the tools not quite developed far enough? Thank you very much for your time!
tomomi1922
If you are porting over, check some tutorial on how to port Skyrim outfit to Fallout 4.For stocking alone, they are too thin to require any mesh. All you need is to change texture with alpha map and normal map (so at least they don't look painted on).

matrxhasyou1983
Thanks for the tip! I was following the beginning of that thread but it looked like it had stalled, but it looks like a breakthrough was made. Most exciting!
