Cyprez
So, It's been a while since I played fallout NW. Yesterday, I started to re-play the story from the beginning. The first problem I encountered was that the game freeze when I leave the conversation with Trudy in the saloon. The other problem is that the game freeze instantly when I level up. I have NEVER experienced this before. Because the game just doesn't randomly freeze - it freeze all the time when either leaving the conversation with Trudy or when I level up. Any ideas what it might be? :(
LeviTheMetalGuy
im pretty sure you have all the patches, so i would ask what mods you have (please list inside of a spoiler) and if you dont have any, i would suggest that you reinstall the game (i know but thats all i got)
Cyprez
im pretty sure you have all the patches, so i would ask what mods you have (please list inside of a spoiler) and if you dont have any, i would suggest that you reinstall the game (i know but thats all i got) I think I got all the patches. Steam update the game automaticly, doesn't it? I have tried to un-select all the mods in the 'data files' but it doesn't work either. EDIT: LOL. I turned Hardcore Mode OFF and now I can get past the conversation. But as soon as I turn hardcore on agian, the conversation freeze. One problem solved. Now the only problem is that the game freeze when I level up (wich I do almost directly after talking to Trudy) Edited April 12, 2011 by Cyprez
LeviTheMetalGuy
well ive had steam go stupid before, but yeah its suppose to update automaticly i would suggest a reinstall, with the DLCs you have only (like if you have dead money or a preorder)

raatorotta
i have the same problem, and it's not just new vegas, it's fallout 3 too. Problems started when i upgraded my computer. I know it's not because mods. It's directx based problem. I have tried download fix dll, but it does nothing.
