LancastorDex
Hi guys, Im pretty new to modding so my question may be trivial.Basicaly every time i restart my PC and start Fallout 4, all the mods i applied before restart get removed and i have to do all the work again.I am using latest version of NMM and followed instructions to the letter.Any idea where the problem could be or what i may have done wrong? Thnx Lancastor
Kastergir
Only thing that comes to mind is plugins.txt . I had this happening unless I did set it to "read only" . Seems one of the things Bethesda did with the Patch before todays was to make it so that this little .txt gets wiped at every start/launch of FO4 XD . NMM will ask you for permission to change that setting at every start so it can manage the file for you .
LancastorDex
So if i get it right, i should uncheck read only, install all the mods and then recheck read only?
Kastergir
Well, if you have it set to read only already, from my experience you should be good if you only install MODs through NMM and let it manage the file for you . I am getting the following message when starting NMM: "plugins.txt is read-only, so it can't be managed by Nexus Mod Manager . Would you like to make it not read-only ?" I click "Yes", and NMM takes over from there . Seems it changes the property of the file when needed, and changes it back when done, so it cant be wiped . AndriconBoy
What I'm doing is:1) Uncheck "Read Only" on all my ini files.2) Start Nexus Mod Manager3) Deactivate all mods3) Initialize game5) Turn on all mods6) Click "Play." Is there an easier way?
