Issues with making my mod installable using NMM instead of manual install

I recently released a reskin mod for another standalone weapon mod, and was unable to figure how I need to compile the files inside the .rar to allow NMM to install the file. The file could be downloaded using it, but upon trying to install it the NMM only gave brief error message that there was a problem installing the mod without any further information regarding what went wrong. Could someone explain what is required from the file to be installable with NMM?

I am constantly amazed at how many people dont read previous ports before posting threads, or expect people to just guess what mod your having issues with....

information helps....

things that would help people resolve this issue for you

1: your Nmm Version

2: the mod name and version

3: have you tried installing it using NMM via the webpage?

4: IS THE MOD NMM compatible?

its a re texture and it SAYS NMM dosent install...

once you HAVE the base mod, which i DO use actually in your game installed BY nmm, it tells you to download the file manually, extract the contents and copy and past them OVER THE ORIGINAL textures manually, if you cannot find the original files manually, download the original mod manually and look inside, it will show you the file structure of the textures, so you can then go INTO you data\textures folder and replace them manually

SO nmm requires the CORRECT file structure to install,

I think you use the same file structure MINUS the data directory,

means creating new folder, naming it, then adding a new folder inside that, and name that, place textures.... archive....

basically

The structure of the original mod is

Data -> Tetures -> Weapons -> DhegWeap -> Parang -> the actual texture files

The .rar of the reskin contains the same folders with same names and the replacement files in the Parang folder, so the structure should be correct as far as I'm aware.

Im not 100% sure but i think to make your mod nmm compatible, all you do is Remove the data portion of the file structure, and archive it, im happy to test that for you once you have uploaded the archive as i already have the parang in my inventory...

even if litraly just REPLACE the textures int he original archive and delete the meshes folder and the ESP, it SHOULD work ;)

also... just be sure to spell textures with an x  lol

For some reason, if I remove the Data folder so that the Textures is the main folder inside the .rar, the NMM will give the following error whilst attempting to download the file:

Server Unreachable: nxm://fallout4/mods/8312/files/31659

And yep, the folder is correctly named as Textures, starting to get bit tired trying to figure this out at 2 am ;)
