Bigass Revolver

Hello there peoples! I've had an idea of a mod since the release of fallout 4, the idea is to have a really large revolver like a 50.cal but you can only use it while you are wearing powerarmour. Abit like Jim Raynors gun in starcraft 2. Here is the problem though, I don't have any experience of modding.

Not possible modding such requirement "Only for Power Armor".

However, how big of a gun do you want? If you can locate a mesh for such a gun, you can create a standalone version, cloning an existing revolver, modify the ammo requirement, and change the damage value to anything you like (super godly if you want). I guess the hardest part is to find a 3D model to fit your needs. Otherwise, it would take you about 2 hours to get it right:20 minutes to watch a video on youtube, about 1.5 hours to learn how to get it right. Or if you simply want to clone the existing revolver and make it to use the highest caliber ammo in game, you can too.

This is how I learned it. He is very detailed. And unlike armor which you need to clone the 2nd Armor Addon, weapons you do not need to. Go to FO4Edit, find the revolver, clone it, adjust damage and ammo, save it as new .esp ... and can go farther to use photoshop to alter texture to make all black (seems like the trend), and you got a cool revolver.

I was thinking about something like this too since the beginning they want you to use the mini gun but you are not strong enough so you have to use that power armor on the roof to get it going. So maybe if you made the gun have a high strength requirement that would do it? At the least, any gun should have less recoil while wearing power armor since the suit could reduce the recoil because of increased strength.

Minigun has a strength requirement? I didn't know that. The whole script was meant to introduce you to power armor. Right after I wiped out the raiders in power armor, I got out and about testing stuff and found out I could use minigun without the power armor. So the whole speech of Preston getting me to use power armor to use minigun is just in excuse. I may need to replay that, because I was so new with the game, I didn't know much.

Maybe I am naive or just flat out wrong, but I don't see where requiring power armor would be impossible w/ the GECK and possibly script extension? If not directly a command of needing to be in the power armor itself, perhaps by doing a requirement of, say, needs perk "Power Armor Left Arm Heavy Weapons", which is a perk only acquired by modding a power armor left arm with the appropriate mod.

Seems to me there could be a means to achieving the effect, even if its a little bit of a work around in the end. I wouldn't give up all hope, myself.. but what do I know :)

I think the strength requirement for the minigun on the roof is actually for ripping it off the vertibird, not for using it afterwards.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of such requirements, though. If I ever make a big-ass weapon -- and I'm not promising I will, but I kinda considered making something... anime-sized for a while now -- I'll probably want most people to be able to use it.

Angelina Jolie uses a pair of Desert Eagle .50's as Laura Croft. I don't honestly think she could handle them one handed but that's besides the point. I have fired a Smith and Wesson model 500. Its a 50 caliber wheel gun. After 25 years of splicing wire with a pair of linemans pliers I have a grip like a steel vice and I still use my other hand to brace my wrist to fire that bad boy. In real life without the required strength and training a portable hand cannon is a hazard to its owner. In a fantasy setting cute girls can fire two of them at the same time.

Not a requirement. I went back and tried it. If memory serves, I did grab the minigun and start shooting, ignoring the power armor altogether (for the sake of testing). This is at level 2 with my character having 2 points in Strength. So the entire setup of "go get the fusion core, so you can power the suit and use a minigun" is only a mean to introduce us power armor with fusion core. The mini gun is just ... cool. But no strength requirement what so ever.

Having a strong grip helps, but it is not everything, because we are NOT supposed to have a tight grip on weapon if we really care about hitting our target at all (especially at handguns shooting). My first time ever shooting a handgun, I managed to miss the paper target completely (and instead, for a twist of luck, hit the metal hanger that broke off and sliced the paper target next line over). The range manager joked about me having a Western movie's cowboy gun skill. And this is me already quite proficient at rifles. My problem was I was not used to the recoil and compensated with a even tighter grip.

I didn't pay attention to Laura Croft's weapons, but yes, if that was the Desert Eagle, it is a joke that she could dualwield it. If someone like Arnold dualwielding such a weapon, it is likely for close combat barrage shots (like in Chow Yun Fat style) instead of shooting for effect (where accuracy counts).

About Minigun, I don't think any of us here get to even see one, let alone really pick one up to shoot.

your right about grip and accuracy tomomi1922 but trust me if you ever try a S&W 500 or a .454 Casull your gonna want to hang onto it. Never put your other hand on the gun either the venting gases will literally blow your fingers or thumb off. Get a firm grip on the handle and brace your wrist with the other hand.

never have held a minigun but at Stugis SD for bike week I paid 100 bucks to fire a .50 BAR
