AVG antivirus questions

Recommended Posts

I have a question about AVG if anyone know this is about the latest version

Steam and AVG don't get along so usally I Disable AVG before trying to get steam to work

I notice there is no way to turn it off if anyone knows can you please answer

Next I go into the process manager and try to end there, I turn off four of the five processes

The 5 one will not end then a sec later the four I disabled Started up again

This seems to be normal I tried on 5 Friends computer that have avg install

One that does not connect to the internet at all

So not a Virus

So I take that this feature is good ?

So my questions are

1. is this process thing Normal ?

2. Is this feature good in a anti-virus ?

3. Is there a way to turn off AVG Anti-Virus ?

Sounds like AVG is protecting itself from being killed, which is perfectly normal and expected behavior.

There is a way, within the gui, to disable real-time monitoring. I haven't used AVG for a long time however. A quick google however turned up AVG's FAQ, which led me to this... http://free.avg.com/us-en/faq.num-3031#num-3031
