TyberiousTC
So, I want to make a mod for the (male) players voice. I've got a professional quality mic and a friend with a professional quality voice. I have naught but these 2 things going for me.Should I wait for the GECK or just figure it out with FO4edit? Either way, how do I get a script of all the players dialog? Once it's all recorded, what do? I am a total greenhorn and any advice would be appreciated. Any one who helps will get a special thank you in the credits or a credit or something and I will engrave your name into the very gates of Elysium. TheGreenLion
All of the written Dialogue *should* be in the Quest category I think, hard to see what's going on with FO4Edit but I'd start there looking for the subtitles to get a script going. It probably would be best to wait for GECK to do the implementing so you have an easier visual interface to see the full tree/branches connected together...I'm afraid I can't be of more help but it's a place to start.
Verz
If you don't wanna mess around in FO4edit you could just download that mod that makes player's voice lower cause it replaces all of his lines, way easier than to extract the lines yourself I guess. Then you could just listen to each one and re-record it with your own voice
michaelkenner
Either way, how do I get a script of all the players dialog? I really don't want to be discouraging but there are 13,014 recorded lines of player dialogue from the male voice actor alone. This may be a very difficult recording project and you'll want to make sure that both yourself and your friend are able to do the whole thing before committing to it. However you can get full copies of the in-game dialogue on the Nexus Modder's Resource page. Look for 'Full Dialogue and Voice Files' by Zilav. I've put the URL in below. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7273/?
thunderlord2200
i love the idea always wantted some better voice actor to do this that could more "feeling" into what he/ she is saying..
tomomi1922
I think its too daunting to re-record an existing character's voice (unless it's a character with only about 10-20 lines). You may do better than the voice actor, but the audio process, if handled incorrectly, can sound really off and obvious that it is not part of the original game. I say, save your voice acting for a custom companion or something, where your acting can be unique. That or try starting a new radio channel. Currently we can't get new channels but replace existing ones, but the resource is already there to create. I would love to hear more radios than Diamond City one (iTravis is awesome, but it gets repetitive).
