Quick Questions about the GECK?

I recently had trouble with room markers. When I put them in a room and refreshed the render window it would make the room invisible and the only way to make them visible again would be to delete the room markers and refresh again but why do the room markers make it invisible in the first place???

And I heard that if you disable multibounds in your geckcustom.ini it will also solve the problem but why does that work?

Also what is the geckcustome.ini?

Sorry for all the question but I can really use the help.

Thanks.

Simply put, it's a New Vagus GECK bug, only one of many. The suspicion is that when they removed things that we were not allowed to have a bunch of stuff broke. Although no one really can say for sure.

You are correct, disabling multibounds will fix this and several other bugs. For example, Havok will work properly and, the "M" key will once again toggle marker such as lighting and door markers. Why does it work? Again, can't say for sure but, the GECK doesn't like Multibounds and with them disabled your modding experience will be much nicer.

the only disadvantage I know of by disabling them is that your GECK will CTD if you try to open the Lucky 38 worldspace. (It is the only cell which actually uses Multibounds.)

Also what is the geckcustome.ini?

It is a little text file that lives in your documents\my games\Fallout New Vagus folder, it allows you to customize features of the GECK. By changing a 0 to a 1 in certain lines, you can do things like enable/Disable Multibounds, allow multiple masters to be loaded or, even run both the FO3 and, FNV GECK at the same time.

It is your friend if you let it. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif

Hope this helps

Thank you so very much!

I had asked this question on several other forums but your answer is by far and easily the most helpful and informative.
