Guns in Dragon Age

I played thru the game many times now, and used and seen almost every weapon mod and the only futuristic weapon so far that i' ve seen is the lightsaber. So I thought would it be possible to implement guns or blasters or anything like that in DAO and to make like a Gunslinger or Sharpshooter specialization?

 

I would reallt really like to play with a char dual wielding pistols like Lara Croft:)))

 

Is it possible?

And if it is, who else would like it?

I believe so, you can get a gun in DAO. Just get a gun model and used as crossbow. Crank up the the rapid aim and have multiple shot ability like "Bianca" in DA2 so you're not reloading after every shot. But seriously, most people don't want to see modern warfare in a game like DAO.

Do a mesh and change crossbows to look like modern weapons? If you feel the need.

 

Actually create a mod that introduces 9mm pistols to the game's armoury? If you must.

 

I, for one, won't download them - I have a problem with modern items appearing in a game that is, essentially, high fantasy. Games that use swords and magic should remain that way and not be tainted by the appearance of M-16s and AK-47s.

 

(Yes, I did DL, install and use the Lightsabre mod...for the fun factor. I have since removed it for exactly the above reason.)

The qunari are already supposed to have gunpowder, and considering the general level technology (renaissance style armour for example) in the rest of Thedas, everyone really should, the existence of magic and lyrium based explosives are probably the main reason why it have not yet been developed. The qunari monopoly will not last much longer thou. Just imagine Sten coming with his own medieval style Handegonne Just look at this:

 

I actually think that the qunari are in for a rude awakening, their culture do not seem like one that would be that good at developing advanced technology, once Thedas have catched up, the qunari empire will crumble.
