ritchieRitz
Hello all. I am new to fallout modding, I have mastered the basics of the GECK now and I would like to attempt skinning. I have however no clue how to reach the needed files! I know they are in .DDS format thanks to info on the web, but I can't find a way to reach them! I don't need help on editing them, I just need to know how to reach the files. Thanks in advance.
ritchieRitz
Little side note: I want to skin both clothes and static objects.
Floatsup
FOMM, its either here or Fallout 3. Theres an extract utility. basically go into geck, find something you want. Edit, and find out the name, open FOMM, then extract. Theres tutorials out there that could help you further, once you do one, you can pretty much do anything then. THe first one is alwas the difficult one. I can do this plus add it back in in about 30 seconds. But thats not the redo of the texture. That can take minutes to hours to days depending on how complex it is. For armor, your looking at days or weeks. Cheers. heres a good thread to make a favorite. Its not a sticky, needs to be though http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/269597-how-to-become-a-modder/
Dart3145
This might also help you, but I have discovered that the FO3Archive Utility opens NV.bsa as well and I find it much easier then using FOMM. Here's a link for the download FO3Archive.
