Chrash to desktop after shooting specific npc

Hi! I've had quite a lot of random crashes and i havn't really pinpointed what event and what mod causes it (it it's even a mod that causes it)

 

But I've found one strange cause to a crash: when i shoot the raider in the picture, as soon as i pull the trigger, the game crashes to desktop

*UPDATE: This crash occurs even when i've deactivateed all my esp-mods so is it a game-bug?

I'm having the same problem. It has happened in a lot of different areas of the game. It's making it so I have to save every 5 minutes. Certain parts of the game I just can't do because of this! So annoying.

 

Edit : Also I noticed I can kill the same NPC with a Molotov grenade. Regular grenades cause the game to just lock up and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out of the game. If I shoot the NPC with any gun in the game it's an instant CTD. I also played with no mods active and it's the same result.

 

It's only male NPC's for me, I have'nt noticed it doing this with female NPC's

 

UPDATE ** I loaded the game and tried something new and it's really confusing. I killed the problem NPC with Molotov and looted him. He had a silenced pipe rifle on him and when I looted it and tried to shoot with it I got the same instant CTD. Something must be messed up with the pipe weapons in my game. I noticed that the other NPC's that gave me the same CTD had the same pipe weapons. I did install a pipe weapon improvement mod earlier in the month but uninstalled it do to weird problems it gave me in game. I think it must have messed up the files somehow..

 

I will update when I have more info

If you are running CBBE, then you will need Bodyslide with it. There is an issue that if you are running any armors that are CBBE, and you don't have it, it can cause a CTD when shooting an enemy. Download them, and use Bodyslide to batch build the armors, and you might be good to go.

While useful information about keeping things up to date it really doesn't help as even with CBBE off the crashes still occur and since CBBE is a mesh replacement the crash should be occurring before we even kill the NPCs.

I'm having the same problem, just about any enemy I shoot...instant ctd! Never had this problem before until recently. I even started a new game and it still occurs.

A common thread seems to be the combat armor. I have the same problem. I had the 2lm workbench and now I can not seem to find the mod that installs it.

I have the same problem, and the bug is Combat armor pieces on the legs

i posted here what i found but no solutions, i just tracked it,

I have found a Solution that works for me. Remove the mesh folder mesh/armor/CombatArmor and mesh/armor/RaiderModArmor. Never crashed agin.

After several weeks of searching and trying different stuff,.... finally. Thx allot. You solved the problem. Simply removed those two files and I played for hours without any crash.
