URMOM101
I downloaded several mods into my NV data files, now I need to know how to run the mods.
CommanderCrazy
You have to download this http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36901, and follow its instructions. Then you just run it, then check the boxes for the mods you want to play. Alternatively, and a worse option, go into the NV launcher (not the game yet) and go into Data Files. Then check the boxes. This method is not recommended though, as you cannot alter your load order, which can cause issues and random crashes. Vindekarr
Right, so! open your Data file and check what file type the mods are. If they're .RARs then no, they wont because they arent installed. You need to Extract a mod before you can use it, use 7-ZIP found here on the Nexus, to do that. Dont come back till you've got 7-zip. It's NV right, correct me if I'm wrong guys, but this is how it works for a recent Bethesda ES engined game: Step one: Download the mod by following the prompts. Step two: Using 7-ZIp, right click thje downloaded Mod and click "extract here" Step three: Click and drag the Textures Folder and drop it ontop Data in NV's folder, then do the same for Meshes and the .ESP Step four: remove then re-insert the disc to bring up the Autplay and select "datafiles" go in and tick all the boxes. Step five: start 'er up and make sure the new gubbins work. Troubleshooting: If nothing shows up in Datafiles, make sure the .esp is installed. If people are purple and the mod is not "Patrick's Powerful Purple People Pack", then the Textures folder isnt were it's meant to be. If people are in the form of hhuge road signs and you didnt download the "turn wastelanders into roadsigns mod"(a popular title :P) then the Meshes arent where they're meant to be. If the game crashes when running, download the New Vegas Mod Manager and Better NV Sorting Software (FOSS? VOSS?) asnd then run those programs to sort this out. It's called a Load ORder, sometimes though it's caused by two mods tring to mod the same thing, so be careful how many boobies mods you install, one will suffice and no, they do not "stack".
