HeyYou
Are you starting the game with OBSE? A couple of your mods require it.

bben46
If you don't have OBSE then if a mod does require it. It can either crash on starting the game, or crash the first time anything from that mod is accessed in the game. It does this because there is something from OBSE that is needed by that mod to work that is not installed. The OBSE team actually worked with steam to get OBSE to work with the steam version. If you read the install instructions there is actually a special set of install instructions for OBSE when using the steam version. If you have either Vista or Win7 and have the game installed in the default location Windows UAC will try to block mods. And it considers OBSE a possible threat and blocks that too. Best solution - reinstall outside of the UAC protected folders to prevent UAC from deciding what you can and cannot do with your computer. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus....icle.php?id=240 It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice. Here is a much easier way to post a load order - it saves wear and tear on your keyboard too.How to post a Load order list article http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=
OrcSaysWoopWoop
Updated my OBSE, check the game directory and it still seems okay. The directory is the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\oblivion, would installing wyre bash fix it? The OBSE files are in the same folder as the .exe. HeyYou
I don't know how steam deals with OBSE.... so, not much help there.... But, given your install location.... UAC might be biting you in the keester. You should be able to turn it off for a specific folder, and subfolders thereof. (I would do the entire steam folder......) bben46
OR, try this suggestion from SteamHow to Move your Steam to another location Without having to reinstall anything.https://support.stea...php?p_faqid=231 This will move all setam games from the protected folders while leaving those folders protected to do what they are intended to do, keep viruses and malware from making changes in programs that are in those locations. Mt steam is installed in C:\Games\Steam and the steam updates and new games have no problems finding it.Non steam games are all installed to C:\Games\game name That way all of my games are located in one place making them easier to find and work with. I also have a separate download folder for each game in the folder for that game. All of my game launchers are shortcuts in a desktop folder named ... Games.
