robtest Posted January 26, 2016 Share Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) So after helping someone with their 44 magnum standalone, I started playing around with my own version with highly tweaked ballistic settings, extra parts and such in the ESP file... I dicked around about 30+ hours, but finally got it shooting the way I wanted, even able to add a suppressor and full auto to a revolver... To the game's physics engine, this is a work of art... Visually, it is kinda hacked together... LOL So I found Tutorial - Using Alpha Transparency to Create New Stuff by dragbody , and trying to follow best I can... New Technique, New Headaches ... I got some basic questions like: What am I doing wrong ??? :smile: Did the author really mean cut the parts out of the texture or really mean to turn it into an alpha transparency when he said "delete all parts of the texture that are NOT on the part of the mesh you want visable" ??? Was I just supposed to do the xxxxxx_d.dds file or do all 3 files (_d.dds, _n.dds and _s.dds) ??? Would it be easier to try and pull the NIF into Blender and cut it up there and re-export it???
