Monkeyshines0123
Hey, Looking for clothing that I can use on NPC characters (mostly the female form of course), I have the cbbe body installed, looks great, after you take the clothing off....looking for clothing for them, randomly spawned or on all characters that look good on the cbbe form. Anybody point me in the right direction, and don't say look it up on nexus, cause I always come up empty when I search for npc clothing, or NPC clothing, or clothing for npc, c'mon I do have one or two brain cells, I DO look before I ask. Please and thanks.
tomomi1922
ok ok :) yeah me too. I love dressing up Settlers and give them appropriate weapons (not OP, but appropriate). But I am not 100% sure what you are asking for ... do you specifically dress them up manually or you want a mod that only supply good clothes when they spawn? There is a mod called Better Settlers, it spawns better looking settlers (when settlers spawn) instead of some dirty hideous faces. The author went over the equipment too so they do come better looking. He/she also has a mod option that let settlers come with only light armor, or heavy armor, or ... anything. Otherwise, there is no such thing as NPC clothes. They can wear exactly what you can wear. Sadly, there are 2 places to look for them. #1. Google for "Fallout 4 Armor" and you get this Wiki page with all the Vanilla armor + outfit (at least 99% there). And then Nexus offers you a good amount of retexture (some good some bad) and a good amount of standalone clothes (some you like, some you don't). And you either painstakingly make them for settlers. For me, I don't have such patient, I just use console command. I don't see that as cheating. I am not going to give them the very best stuff to walk around with. But I want them to LOOK DECENT. And I hate pipe weapons .... so no settlers use pipe weapons. Sorry for sending you back to Nexus or Google, but if you give me something more specific I can suggest to you. But here, just to not have you going home empty handed, I got some generic suggestion: Eli's Collection, a lot of very nice and clean outfits, nothing skimpy, very appropriate, lore friendly, and very good looking.http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7369/? 2pac4eva CBBE skimpy collection. You don't get anymore skimpy than these, next step is butt naked. The catch: initially all outfits come with gigantic breasts. Author offers CBBE outfit presets so you can rebuild them to your body size. It;s some work, but well worth it. I only use about 3 outfits from this collection, but they are quite high quality, you won't regret. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7718/? Endormoon's Craftable Combat Armor: It's just combat armors. But this is super customization. So many logo/decal to choose from, and so many features. In fact, 3 features you will love: 1. Make certain pieces invisible (so you can wear armor and don't look so odd on certain outfit). 2. Combat Helmet has Hair and Light. 3. Combat helmet becomes a wig, custom hair for everyone!!!!!http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4865/?Hope I didnt go off topic.
Monkeyshines0123
ok, so I guess I am not sure as well, I did not realize they could wear what you wear, I am talking about when you walk around and encounter random people,(mostly NOT friendly) but they all wear the same drab a** clothing, and the people in diamond city, same thing, I do not want to have to go through and personally make clothing etc, trust me do not have the patience for that, I mean I played Skyrim for ever it seems, and there were mods for clothing for npc, randomly spawned persons, bad people etc. I was hoping there was the same thing for Fallout 4, maybe it is because the creation kit has not yet been released, not sure, I do not want a mod to change or conflict with the cbbe (because of course I enjoy it) just........better clothes, and OH GOD, I hate those pipe weapons too, so annoying, but I don't know how to get rid of them, just no good at coding or whatever it is that those extremely smart people do to make all this stuff, I am just glad they do. tomomi1922
Oh now I totally get what you meant. I thought you meant settlers. Those are vanilla clothes. Yes, they look terrible as the game intended (the ragtag look). But even then, you would like them to look good being ragtag, right? In Skyrim I totally hated a lot of vanilla armors, they just look like half ass designed armors. Then this is what you are looking for: retexture mods. There are 3 ways to look at this: 1. Find some retexture on Nexus, they either enhance the details or replace the texture entirely. Like "winter jacket and jean"http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1805/?See the difference at Before/After? If you download this, you will get exactly the look of Winter Jacket, but much cleaner. This is an outfit some NPC randomly wears. Personally I do not like this retexture too much. I use this one:http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8555/?Someone did a standalone (that you can make, but does not replace the original Winter jacket). However, I borrow these texture to replace the default winter jacket.2. Do it yourself. You can use a program called BAE extractor to extract texture data from the game. And you can browse through and kinda guess what they are. A lot of stuff you complain about are in Raiders folder. Use Photoshop, (get the DDS plugin), and add more saturation, Contrast, add sharpness filter ... and they will look better (even same old dirty rag, but with a lot of details and colors). 3. Replace the entire look. I am now working on a personal project, for fun, replacing all raider outfits with German Nazi outfit. The name is still some ".... raider leather" but it has the appearance completely of some German black outfit (and clean too). This means you have the possibility to replace them with almost anything you can find. And all I did was copying and renaming files, I can't make my own model or anything. The only thing you need to do is to remember which outfit is which. Like you hate that "Road Leather" outfit? You can replace them. It will replace the look only, no stat change (not even name change). If you want to do any of these, I can show you. It's not hard, but tedious. Each outfit has minimum 1 mesh file, 1 material file, 3 texture files. If you want to enhance color, just modify 1 texture file. But if you want to change the look with another outfit, then you may have to mess with all 5 of these files. Monkeyshines0123
Thanks, I am glad I was able to get my point across, yes, sounds very tedious, unfortunately I do not have time for it, I usually only get to play about twice a week, job just demands too much out of me right now, do not have the time......at least not just now, I may take you up on the offer of teaching me sometime in the future though.
