Current tools for modding!

I´m sorry if I upset someone but I´m new to modding and I think that there is more like me who needs a better start.

First of: I´m currently only trying to work with Fallout 3. Must focus on one game to use as a learning platform for using mods and later hopefully create my own.

I have tried to read a lot and used Videos from all over the Place to get a grip of what tools to use and how to use them. But there is problems...

The Pinned topics is from 2008 and 2009 with a lot of broken links. They describe tools that is outdated or not longer available. Sorry to say the same goes for many of the instructional videos and some of them are just a year old. I have noted that some recent answers in forums describes use of tools thar are no longer available.

I understand that it is personal preferences as well as a long time with modding that decides what tools to use. Personally as I´m new to this it just gets me confused.

I started up using FOMM and installed LOOT, FO3Edit, Geck, Wrye Flash and god knows what. Tried to find recomended tools like BOSS that is mentioned all over the Place. Recently restarted all this work with NMM.

But for me this is not an option. BOSS is not available any longer so all references to that tool is of no use, have no clue how it works, and a lot of the other toos instructions are outdated or in some cases non existing.

I would like to place a request if that is possible.

Please, can someone who is experienced in modding create a short introduction to "current tools" that are avalable for us noobs (when writing this my NMM just tells me of a new update) . I know, that would be as starting over and thats exactly what we are doing. That would help a lot.

I am amazed of how much effort is laid onto some of these topics and instructions and I want to thanks for that but if they are to old, sorry. That does not help me.

If your just starting out, I can suggest you click my profile, then seek my content, then choose post only, then start from page 40 and work your way backwards...there is more information posted there to date than you will ever need.

any questions/ PM me for my e-mail address and I'll discuss things you need to know about the game only.
