Yet Another Crash Thread

Hi everyone,

Attempting to get a fresh install of Oblivion up and going on my PC before Skyrim (and the Witcher 2, I guess) - but I've been having some trouble with crashes.

They seem to occur mostly when the game is being saves, e.g when loading a new area (and even then it seems to be performance-intensive areas) or after combat when Streamsave kicks in - that's my best guess at the moment, but I have had Steamline disabled previously and still experienced a crash or two. They also seem to occur at random intervals, sometimes I can get an hour into it, sometimes two which makes it very difficult to track down. I've tried disabling mods several at a time (though obviously having so many isn't making that easy), and screwing around with background programs etc with no luck what so ever; going to check my drive for errors now & defrag to see if that helps, although I'm not at all hopefull. I've also tried changing various settings in my ini file and the LAA 4GB patch. OSR is currently using the #1 algorithm for heap replacement, although I have had it on number 6/disabled with the same thing ocurring.

I'm pretty sure it's mod related as if I disable 'all' (except OBSE) mods and play for a while, I don't have any issues whatsoever; but that might be a result of not saving as often.

Here's my modlist:

DxDiag, if you need it (pagefile look a little high to anyone considering i've basically only got WyreBash/Firefox4 open?):

Turn off 'Save on wait/rest/travel'. One of the most consistant causes of crashes when using things like Streamline.

bSaveOnTravel=0

bSaveOnWait=0

bSaveOnRest=0
