Hi,

I need help setting up Oblivion (currently clean Steam install) the way I want and will be more than happy to pay (via PayPal) for your time.

My mod "wish list" consists of:

- OOO

- MMM

- XP

- Midas Magic

- Deadly Reflex

- Unique Landscapes

- Natural Environments

- Bananasplit Better Cities

- DarNified UI

I downloaded these already but If any conflict with each other - let me know. I'm also open to suggestions if you think something important is missing from the list above.

Please let me know how much you'd like to charge. If you have a high post count, I'll pay a portion upfront. If not - the full amount will be transferred after everything's been successfully installed and I can play the game for a few minutes, save it, restart, load, etc. I do not have any existing save games. I think a combination of Skype and MSN (for desktop sharing) should work.

Please either reply here or message me.

Thanks!

I am sure someone here will help you install your complex overhauls without charging. If I used those overhauls I would have been happy to help you. Unfortunately, I don't.

You might want to consider All Natural for your weathers. It can use the weathers from all the major weather systems including Natural Weather from Natural Environments and is generally considered more stable than Natural Weather. There is no real equivalent for Natural Habitat, so most people who want that function with All Natural install just Natural Habitat first from Natural Environments. Many people prefer different water replacers and feel Enhanced Vegetation is better than Natural Vegetation because it tends to drop your fps less, so you might want to do a little comparing before you make up your mind.

Hang in there. Someone will surely help you without asking for money. This is a great community.

Hi guys,

First of all - thank you for replying so quickly.

If I was asking for one thing - sure. But I feel bad when coming with a "laundry list" of items. I have a regular job and I definitely value others' time, so it's not a problem (I think).

Helping out for pay is not the way that this community works. I will try to help where I can, but you are going to have to read the installation instructions for Deadly Reflex VERY CAREFULLY. One of the most requested areas of help in these forums are for DR6 installation problems. I do not have it, so can't help you there.

As for the others, they are all workable together provided you are willing to download and install BOSS and Wrye Bash. The BOSS installer is a no-brainer, and will detect Oblivion, Nehrim, FO3 and FONV. Allow it to update masterlists. For Wrye Bash, download the Wrye Python 03a installer and install it first. Download Wrye Bash 291 installer and install that afterwards. Do not install the outdated Natural Environments. Go for All Natural. You will need to install OBSE. Wherever possible, choose to install via Wrye Bash's BAIN installer. If that is a no-go, choose OBMM, but BAIN has many advantages, one being the ability to 'roll back' any installations to a previous state, as it keeps check on the CRC's of all installed resources and backs them up when it installs a mod.

On to your mods. Install in this order:

Darnified UI (comes in OMOD)

All Natural (comes BAIN ready)

OOO (make sure you install from the full 1.33 version and upgrade to 134b)

MMM (there is an OMOD installation script available)

Oblivion XP (Go for the BAIN ready update)

Unique Landscapes (don't forget any compatibility patches that you may need)

Midas Magic (just plonk the .bsa and .esp into your Data folder)

Deadly Reflex (take the time to read the installation instructions very carefully)

Bananasplit Better Cities (comes BAIN ready)

Once everything is installed, close OBMM and run BOSS.

After BOSS has completed, build a Bashed Patch according to this:

Copy the Bashed Patch, 0.esp from the mopy\extras\ folder into your \\Data\ folder and run BOSS. Then, in Wrye Bash right click on Bashed Patch, 0.esp and select 'Rebuild Patch' -- in the latest version of Wrye Bash there is no need to right click and select 'Mark Merged', as it's all done automatically.

When you press 'Rebuild Patch', make sure that you check the following:

Merge Patches

Import ... [Go through each 'import' option and if there's a mod, not csv in the right window, check it, and the Import... option.]

Cobl Catalogs [ONLY if you use Cobl]

Contents Checker

Leveled Lists

Race Records

SEWorld Tests [ONLY if you have Shivering Isles installed]

The Globals and Tweaks are optional, but should not be checked unless you know what you are doing, and should be left alone while you are troubleshooting. Everything else should be left unchecked UNLESS you know that you need it.

Once your Bashed Patch has been built, download and run TES4LODGen to generate distant LOD objects for your load list. This must always be done last. Remember this every time you install, remove or edit a mod:

BOSS, BASH, TES4LODGen.

Now you are ready to play.

Hickory - I appreciate your trying to help. I really do. Part of my RL job is supporting certain people and I know it's not always an easy task.

That said, I have no interest or time in spending hours trying to learn an array of applications I will never use again...

I'll try to reinstall the mods using your order and just OBMM, which I somewhat understand (unlike Wrye) but - from my perspective - it's an inefficient use of time. Fortunately I'm off tomorrow :)

Managed to install almost everything. Thanks for the order and instructions on "bash patching", Hickory.

Excellent. And you're welcome.
