Crash on Save - Anything I can do?

I have a unique problem and can't find ANY help on how to resolve the conflict.

 

My game crashes upon save... Let me explain.

 

I CAN save the game WITHIN rivet city...just fine, no problems at all. However, when I leave rivet city and try to save it crashes. Anywhere else in the world and it crashes. Basically, if I try to save ANYWHERE besides inside rivet city...the game crashes.

 

I've disabled ALL mods, it still does it.

 

At this point I am completely clueless as to what is causing the crash... there are NO mods active EXCEPT the ones necessary to have my character - which is my race mod. I'm frustrated. I don't feel like restarting the game. Having a clean save with no mods should fix it, but it DOESN'T. Does ANYONE have any idea why I can't save ANYWHERE in the world except INSIDE Rivet city or how I could clean my save and recover it?

I'm a little confused. Did you try to load an older save?

 

Anyway, if it's not the save which might have gone corrupt, there are most likely leftovers in the data dir, which cause the problem.

If you uncheck a mod, it's in most cases not uninstalled.

 

 

You can try to use FOIC to delete all unnecessary files or you may need to reinstall the whole game the clean way.

Not an expert. But I know that for many mods, whether being installed or uninstalled, you MUST go someplace and wait three days for the cells involved to reset. Otherwise stuff like this can happen.

 

So, if you haven't already done so, wait in RC three days, then try leaving and saving.

 

If it's OK, problem solved. If it still happens, I got nothing.

The problem persist even if I wait for four days. New news,the ability to save gets screwed up not just in rivet city - but elsewhere in the game. After I play awhile eventually when I try to save the game crashes, loading previous saves does not work - and the game still crashes upon trying to save.

 

Could it be related to the UOF3 or CASM ?

So far every time that I've been unable to save due to crash, trying again and again to load the game and save eventually results in being able to save again. But why that's the case I do not know...It's very strange.. I've managed to recover my save file twice now, but whose to say that it'll continue to be recoverable?

Can you load up the geck and go to the area around the out side of RC? when

 

you get to that area, look on the menu for collision markers. Double click it

 

/them one at a time and then look in the rendering windows and see the item.

 

If these things appear any where near the entrance or above RC. send me a

 

copy of the saved game you want to keep. I can analyze it and determine what

 

is causing you issue.There is one other thing you can do to verify what is

 

causing it. I see your using my tool but those 3 below it are still loading.,

 

remove them from the directory and try again. The stabilizer Must be at the

 

bottom Weather or not those mods are used, they will override My settings.

 

Ok. fo3 editor, run it. go to my tool and expand world spaces as well as

 

static too. Look up stream from mine and it will show you all the conflicts

 

in the game. The tabs at the top of the editor will be dark red. This is a

 

massive Conflict. You Either resolve them or remove them from the data

 

directory and redo this procedure until you have tabs of orange, NOT dark

 

red. when you get to this point, your game should work fine from there. Let

In case ccmechanic2's method does not work, a clean reinstall or cleaning the data folder at all (e.g. by the afore-mentioned FOIC) should fix the issue.

I don't really understand what cc is saying to do, and I don't really understand how reinstalling would fix the issue, either.

You don' need to actually reinstall, it's an option to clean the data folder from mods at all. If you reinstall the clean way, you delete the data folder with all the leftovers manually. But you also can use FOIC to achieve it.
