InuyashaFE
Well, seeing the main quest delayer, it gave me an idea. The Main Quest Delayer looks great as far as I can tell, and the idea behind it is really something. But I was thinking... wouldn't it be interesting for the roleplaying piece of Oblivion's fan-base to act as a bystander to the Daedric Invasion? It may sound boring, but it would give people the freedom to roleplay in other factions without having to be this omnicompetent freak of nature running around closing Oblivion gates while simultaneously aiding the Mage's guild against Mannimarco. "Okay, here's a daedric artifact. What's that? A great welkynd stone? Oh I'll get that later, I'm sure the Daedric Invasion will wait while I go run across Cyrodiil getting my recommendations.." This allows for much realism, without sacrificing the plot of the game. You could still do Cyrodiil a great service by closing renegade oblivion gates (though certain Oblivion Gates that are essential to the quest would have to be locked out for the PC) and during the final battle where Martin rushes to the Temple of The One, you could still assist Martin by clearing out some of the Daedra as the Arch-Mage or Head of The Fighter's Guild. As for the CoC... I think a good idea would be to make him an imperial in a full suit of armor, which I suppose you could have leveled to the player, so he doesn't end up too weak against the Daedra Hordes, and is supposed to be every bit as tough as he should be compared to the player. The player could come from a ship, or maybe wake up in a house in the imperial city, or some such. Upon wandering in the world, everything could seem fine, until one faithful day, they hear about how Kvatch fell to the daedra hordes. Though... This brings the question of what would happen if the player were in Kvatch at the time of the attack. I propose that they get forced to the encampment like the other civilians, and encouraged to leave. This would allow the CoC to do his job while the player is off living his own life and trying to survive the Oblivion Crisis. So what do you guys think of the idea? It would be an extremely large overhaul mod I suppose, but I think it could rival the Main Quest Delayer given enough time and dedication.
